- Allergic to Love: The video "Trying to give a third gift in Stardew Valley" provides a platonic example. Matthew tries offering Sebastian a third gift in the same week, and the latter starts panicking and crying.
- Creepy Good: Matthew plays as this in "Stardew Valley After You Read the Wiki". He's using wiki knowledge to give the NPCs their favorite gifts, but between his bloodshot eyes and Kubrick Stare, he comes across as unsettling.Matthew: "I know everything about you!"
- Eat Dirt, Cheap: The video "Giving a Gift to Abigail in Stardew Valley" features Matthew giving Abigail a quartz and watching with shock as she bites into it like an apple.
- Mistaken Identity: The plot of "Superman Mistakes Jeff Bezos for Lex Luthor". It's a Take That! at the former.
- Sleep Deprivation: In "Robin upgrades your house in Stardew Valley", the fact that said upgrade continues through the night results Matthew not getting any sleep.
- Showdown at High Noon: The plot of "A Duel at High Noon" features this. Neither of the duelists have ever fired a gun before, and it shows.
- Videogame Cruelty Potential: The video "Giving Harvey too many coffees in Stardew Valley" features Matthew intentionally giving Harvey caffeine poisoning for his own amusement.
