HEY, WELCOME TO LANDSHARKS! *cough*

"WELCOME TO LANDSHARKS, (landsharks)!

Landsharks is a Let's Play show hosted by a tightly-knit group of friends in the San Francisco Bay Area. They made their debut playing EarthBound in 2015 and have since then made several attempts to play a wide collection of games to varying degrees of success.

The main cast includes:

Aaron, a hardcore Nintendo enthusiast and the show's beloved frontman.
Reuben, the downtrodden editor of the show.
Josh, everyone's favorite Landshark.
Erika, the one who communicates mostly through grunts and screams.

Landsharks is a property of Azure Box.

The main comic contains examples of:

  • Aborted Arc: The Landsharks tend not to complete games they've started. This is mostly attributed to the fact that each of the members of the show lead busy lives individually with clashing schedules.
  • Aerith and Bob: Josh is the only member not to use a username or alias when referring to himself in video descriptions.
"Today's episode is hosted by NEBREEZY, JOSH, PEARIKA, and EWING."
  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Josh's wild theories on the creation of the Wii U game "I've Got To Run".
"This is a social commentary on the inept society we live in today."
  • Berserk Button: As seen in the playthrough of Lovely Planet, Aaron couldn't even STAND the mere mention of Amba Paluku. Reuben and Erika found much joy in playing with this.
  • Big "NO!":
  • Brick Joke: The mention of "Useless Dildo", an unfortunate Miitomo creation first mentioned in their playthrough of Star Fox Zero.
  • Catchphrase:
    • Aaron tends to call a lot of things "A FUN TIME".
    • Erika is usually the one to scream the most profanities on the show, usually some variation of "EAT MY ASSHOLE".
  • The Cameo: Landsharks has a history of recording in busy places, from a local Boys & Girls Club to various cast members' houses. Aaron's dad has made a handful of appearances throughout several videos in particular.
  • Cold Open: Their playthrough of Yoshi's Woolly World contains an iconic opening from Erika.
"This reminds of of that time when I tried to put a really heavy-duty tampon in my vag."
  • The Determinator: Aaron's usually the one who refuses to give up in any sort of game.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness: As with anything, the first few episodes of Landsharks are drastically different from the content they make today. They've moved on from the commitment of playing long RPGS in favor of enjoying more short-term couch party games.
  • Exactly What It Says on the Tin: An episode of Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones in which "NOTHING HAPPENS".
  • Four-Temperament Ensemble: The cast tends to fit Four-Man Band sort of tropes almost perfectly. It helps having a crew full of drastically unique personalities and voices.
Sanguine: Aaron, for being the sociable and lively leader.
Choleric: Erika to a certain extent, for being the one who's more likely to get angry at a game and explode in profanities.
Melancholic: Reuben, who tends to remain analytical and critical while playing a game.
Phlegmatic: Josh, who is often portrayed as one of the softer-spoken members of the show, but is quick to crack a joke.
    * Let's Play: The average Landsharks upload is 10 to 20 minutes of someone talking over video game footage, although the cast has recently ventured out to create other sorts of content.
  • Lost Episode: The Landsharks have since archived their playthroughs of Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade and Nintendo Land on the account that they were "a bit too unpolished and chaotic to the point of being somewhat painful to watch".
  • No Ending: What tends to happen to most of their playthroughs.
  • Noodle Incident: As seen in the gang's playthrough of Super Mario Maker, they were walking in a parking lot when a huge Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles balloon suddenly flew in front of them and stared them down point-blank. It continued to fly off into the sky as its owner continued to chase it down. During the episode, all of them have difficulty explaining the incident due to its sheer absurdity.
  • Perma-Stubble: Every depiction of Aaron ever.
  • Rage Quit: The ending of Star Fox Zero.
  • Two Gamers on a Couch: Aaron, Reuben, and Erika all sit on one couch during recording sessions in Aaron's house. Josh sits in his own chair.
