Khyber Shards is a Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition Actual Play set in the world of Eberron. The show follows Ari, Esri, Pog, and Shade, four unwilling recruits of the Blackwheel program, a supersoldier initiative set up by the Twelve for people with so-called aberrant dragonmarks. As the Last War ends, the program is disolved. Before they can be killed, the four heroes are saved by senior graduates of the program, Daine and Thora, who help the four to escape before they part ways.

Two years later, Ari, Esri, Pog, and Shade all live together in the frontier city of Stormreach, theoretically far from the Twelve's machinations and therefore safe. However, as familiar faces begin to show up in Stormreach, tensions rise both within and outside the four heroes.

While Khyber Shards originally began airing on the Geek Pantheon's channel, eventually it was decided to move the show to their own YouTube channel in order to better increase the chances of it being promoted by the algorithm. New episodes are released on Mondays, while Q&A episodes are released on Fridays.

Tropes:

  • Dysfunction Junction: Out of the various aberrant-marked characters, only four of them weren't explicitly disowned by their families when their dragonmarks manifested, and three of them still have familial issues.
  • Green Thumb: Esri and Shade, being respectively a druid and a ranger, can magically influence plants.
  • Hiding Behind Your Bangs: After the time skip, Thora's bangs cover the severely scarred left half of her face. They also help to make her hard to read.
  • Named Weapons: Such as Fury's Edge and Rowa's Talon.
  • Playing with Fire: Pog's mark gives him flame-based abilities.
  • Psychic Powers: Ari's mark gives him these.
  • Telepathy: Ari is telepathic thanks to his mark, while Esri's entire species is naturally telepathic.
