JP's Minecraft Survivor is a fanmade version of the hit reality TV show, Survivor, but with Minecraft as its medium.

Inspired by EliteChris35's Minecraft Survivor, former contestant JPtoony created a series of his own in the fall of 2019. Currently with two completed seasons and a third airing, the series is small yet progressively growing.

The series more or less follows the formula of the CBS show, with a handful of contestants plopped down in a remote location, from a fictional island chain to the entire US state of North Dakota. They will be divided into two or three tribes, where every few days they will compete in a challenge for safety (or, immunity) from tribal council, where the losing tribe will vote someone out of the game. This process repeats until the tribes merge, where it again repeats until only two players remain. From that point, the last few players that had been voted out decide amongst themselves who will win the game in one final vote.

The series can be seen on Youtube here.

    Season Recaps

01: Bandiaterra (Fall 2019)

  • Location: Bandiaterra
  • Number of castaways: 12
  • Starting tribes: Ardhi and Falsa, names derived from "Bandiaterra"
    • Merged tribe: .jpg, named as so because Jenry was given the power to come up with it.
  • Winner: Landslide
  • First season of JP's series. It is currently the only season where the winner was announced on-site. Known for incredibly imbalanced tribes divided by a member of the losing tribe, a late-game medevac, and the winner being determined by a coin flip. Still, sees some of the biggest personalities in the history of the series.

02: North Dakota (Summer 2020)

  • Location: North Dakota, USA
  • Number of castaways: 13
  • Starting tribes: Amidon, Bergen, and Calio, named after small towns of North Dakota.
    • Merged tribe: Wafer, named after a running joke among the cast.
  • Winner: Asher
  • Second season of JP's series. Set on the comically flat state of North Dakota, the season sees surprisingly strategically intense tribal councils despite consistently small tribes, a temporary one-world twist, and most infamously, a merge at the final 5. Also sees what is currently the only "perfect win" (receiving no votes to eliminate as well as every jury vote) in the show.

03: Mushroom Kingdom (Fall 2021)

  • Location: The Mushroom Kingdom
  • Number of castaways: 16
  • Starting tribes: Kuribo and Nokonoko, named after Mario's most common enemies.
    • Merged tribe: Odyssey, named after Super Mario Odyssey.
  • Winner: Knife
  • Third season of JP's series. Set in the fictional Mushroom Kingdom, the season started out with a 4-round losing streak from one tribe before an unexpectedly early merge at the final 12. From there, alliances shuffled until two solid blocs formed, trapped in a near-even power struggle for 4 rounds before one side finally triumphed.

04: Mesopotamia (Summer 2023)

  • Location: Mesopotamia (Iraq)
  • Number of castaways: 16
  • Starting tribes: Uruk and Eridu, named after ancient cities.
    • Merged tribe: TBD
  • Winner: TBD
  • Fourth season of JP's series. Set in the mud flats of Iraq, among the oldest civilizations in world history.

Warning: The only spoilers that will be marked below are those involving the final votes of the season, and who won in the end. Proceed with caution.

This web series provides examples of:

  • The Ace: Throughout Bandiaterra, Landslide went onto win every challenge except for two, and was only available to be voted out once.
  • Battle of Wits: The nature of the game.
    • One particularly noteworthy example comes in the second round of North Dakota. Miller had just joined the Amidon tribe, which had just gone to rocks with JJ as the clear vote. The problem was that at the immunity challenge, JJ found a hidden immunity idol. What resulted was a series of mindgames with Miller trying to get the tribe to split their votes again, and Liz trying to get JJ to not play his idol. In the end, JJ negated one vote with his idol, and Miller was eliminated in a 2-1-0 vote.
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: Each season sees the warring tribes designated by a specific color: Ardhi wore blue, Falsa wore red, etc.
  • Confession Cam: Much like the real show, players get to use them to express their thoughts on the game, their strategies, and the other players on their tribe.
  • Cool Old Guy: Relatively speaking with Tim. The heart and leader of the Nokonoko tribe, at an ancient 32 at the time of playing.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Tends to happen in the tribal phases.
    • In Bandiaterra, the Falsa tribe lost all 6 challenges before the merge, eventually going into the merge outnumbered 6-1, where the 1 is promptly voted out. Noteworthy in that the tribes were hand divided by Dafodill, who put herself onto Falsa.
    • In North Dakota, the swapped Calio tribe went to tribal council 4 out of 5 times before the merge, once again going into the merge outnumbered 4-1.
    • In The Mushroom Kingdom, the Nokonoko tribe lost 5 consecutive challenges by episode 4, eventually going into the merge outnumbered by Kuribo 8-4.
  • Decided by One Vote:
    • Bandiaterra, with Landslide winning in a 3-2 vote over Chase and The Mushroom Kingdom, with Knife winning in a 4-3 vote over Double.
    • For a standard elimination vote, this happens several times. Most notably in the premiere of Mesopotamia, where what looked to be a tied vote became a 4-3-1 vote, due to Jomah trying to game a twist involving past votes.
  • Deserted Island: Bandiaterra serves as a standard one for the first season, as well as the "World 3" challenges in The Mushroom Kingdom.
  • Elimination Statement: Most episodes end with the previously eliminated player giving their final thoughts on the game, ranging from catharsis to bitterness.
Paper: I have a feeling Rory defected. But those other two guys can go fuck themselves... They can go fuck themselves twice. But GG, I guess.
  • Ham-to-Ham Combat: Several tribes feature massive personalities which compete both in the game, and for airtime. Echo and Gum, Kidmodo, Brian, and Joe, and Joey and Tim are some of the bigger examples.
  • Hidden in Plain Sight: The hidden immunity idols in the tribal phase of Mesopotamia were concealed in this way, hidden directly behind the chests in the tribes' 'Camelmail'.
  • Landslide Election: North Dakota, with Asher beating Echo in a 5-0 vote.
  • Neutrality Backlash: Sometimes this occurs to a swing vote who makes their position too blatant for the other players' liking. For example, in episode 2 of Bandiaterra, Rush found themselves between the duos of Dalton and Shadow, and Dafodill and Hayden. When they refused to be clear which side they were willing to vote with, the other four turned on them and unanimously voted them out.
  • Non-Gameplay Elimination: In Bandiaterra, Cerimed was killed at the final 6, in front of a horrified Landslide.
  • Oh, Crap!: Happens several times.
    • In episode 7 of Bandiaterra, Jenry and Paper when Landslide played the hidden immunity idol on Chase, negating their two votes. Only solidified when Rory flipped on them to eliminate Paper.
JP: First vote... Chase. Does not count.
      Jenry: Welp.
  • Plucky Comic Relief: Several players try to play this role to endear themselves to their tribes early on, such as most everyone on the Ardhi tribe, Echo in season 2, and Joey in season 3.
  • Reunion Show: Starting with North Dakota, one was held with (at least some of) the cast of the season to look back on the game, catch up with the players, and reveal the fan favorite of the season.
  • Shocking Elimination: Joked about invoked in episode 3 of The Mushroom Kingdom:
JP: Electro, voted out at the last tribal council.
    Kidmodo: Wow, shocking.
  • Shown Their Work: Seasons typically feature cultural nods, landmarks, or just general details from the season's location which inspire both builds and challenges across the season.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: The nature of the people who seek a game such as this. Some notable examples include Jenry, Echo, Red, Brian, and Joey.
  • Sole Survivor: One per season, as is the format.
    • Bandiaterra: Landslide defeated Chase.
    • North Dakota: Asher defeated Echo.
    • The Mushroom Kingdom: Knife defeated Double.
    • Mesopotamia: TBD
  • Take That!: Several taken both by players and production at North Dakota's lack of scenery.
Jaison: Woah, this is really flat.
  • Theme Naming: The tribes' names each season.
    • Bandiaterra: Ardhi and Falsa are the segments of Bandiaterra's names' languages flipped around.
Bandia is Swahili for "fake", and Terra is Portuguese for "land". Thus, Ardhi is Swahili for "land" and Falsa is Portuguese for "land".
    • North Dakota: Amidon, Bergen, and Calio are each named after small towns in North Dakota.
    • The Mushroom Kingdom: Kuribo and Nokonoko are Japanese for "Goomba" and "Koopa" respectively, two of Mario's most iconic enemies. Similarly, the merged tribe, Odyssey, was named after Super Mario Odyssey.
  • The Place: Each season, so far, has been subtitled in this way.
  • Underdogs Never Lose: Usually doesn't apply.
    • In Bandiaterra, Shadow was the only member of Falsa to make the merge, outnumbered by 6 Ardhi members. He was immediately, unanimously voted out.
    • In North Dakota, Red survived having to vote out his only ally, Jaison, on the first Bergen tribe, and eventually being the only member of the swapped Calio tribe to make the merge. Entering the belated merge outnumbered 4-1, he managed to eventually make his way to the final 3, where he was voted out after choking in the final immunity challenge.
    • In The Mushroom Kingdom, the four members of the Nokonoko tribe, after losing every challenge before the merge, all came up short in their own ways, finishing in 8th, 7th, 5th, and 3rd place.
  • Wham Line: At the final 7 in The Mushroom Kingdom, Aussie and Tim look like sitting ducks, with one of them ripe for the picking. But when JP asks if anyone has an idol...
Aussie: Okay. (cue flashbacks revealing that Tim found an idol using the clues from the Keelhaul Key reward and gave it to Aussie)
