Griffin's Amiibo Corner is a Polygon show
hosted by Griffin McElroy of Monster Factory, My Brother, My Brother and Me, and The Adventure Zone. Griffin reviews Nintendo's Amiibo toys in a quirky Stylistic Suck manner, ending every episode by trying to fit the Amiibo into his mouth.
This series provides examples of:
- Affectionate Parody: Of highly excited but low quality Amiibo (and other scannable toys) reviewers.
- Bittersweet Ending: In "The Final Tasting", Griffin is fired from Polygon for breaking the company piano, and decides to go out with bang by reviewing every Amiibo he has not yet reviewed. At the end he delivers a heartfelt(ish) speech, still in character, to everyone who might be sad about his leaving Polygon.Griffin: Well, that's all of 'em. I guess you're probably pretty devastated about my termination, but do not cry because it's over, smile because it happened. Like the mummy said in the hit action comedy The Mummy, "death is only the beginning".
- The Cameo: Two in the series finale, "The Final Tasting".
- Polygon's Executive Video Producer, Tara Long, appears briefly to fire Griffin for breaking the company piano.
- Polygon's Live Video Producer, Patrick Gill (of Gill & Gilbert), appears in his character from his "Please Retweet" series to trap Griffin inside a "hell cube of his own design", but is vaporized when Griffin breaks free.
- Establishing Series Moment: Griffin straight up shoving the Mario Amiibo into his mouth.
- Felony Misdemeanor: Griffin turns himself in to the police in shame after lying to his fans that he could fit the Wolf Link Amiibo into his mouth.
- Gosh Dang It to Heck!: "Aw beans."
- Mind Screw: Griffin's time trapped in the VR Zone, tempted daily to give up his soul and merge with the Dark Orb. After escaping back to the real world, he unconvincingly states the ordeal was all a Griffin's Goofer before breaking down into silent sobs.
- Motor Mouth: Griffin rarely breaks from his breathless, too-close-to-the-mic monotone.
- Rimshot: Griffin tries, but can't find the right sound effects on his keyboard.
- The Scrappy: In-universe, Griffin dislikes Pikachu for its mediocre battle stats and thinks many other Pokemon deserved to get an Amiibo first, even skipping over Pikachu's name in the Pokerap.

Self-Fanservice: Griffin calls out fanartists for drawing Waluigi with "a handsome face and body, like celebrities George Clooney or Craig T. Nelson."Griffin: Is this a joke? Everything about him is a sin. - Sharp-Dressed Man: Griffin wears a suit and tie starting in Season 2.
- Stylistic Suck: The editing and sound quality.
- Wine Is Classy: As part of his mature, sophisticated image for Season 2, Griffin recommends Pinot Gris as a pairing for the Ryu Amiibo. He pronounces it "Pinnot Griss", spits it out at first but forces himself to drink the whole bottle, then passes out semi-coherent on the couch.Griffin: Ugh! Tastes like medicine.
