DEADBUG says is a YouTube channel operated by YouTuber Christopher Heary, better known online by his stage name "Deadbug". The channel specializes in true crime content. The videos are notable amongst the horror/mystery community on YouTube for rarely censoring visual or narrative graphic details to make the content brutal and immersive, while simultaneously adding doses of Black Comedy in the narration. Deadbug's editing style and production quality is inspired by his years of experience working on television, and often follows a documentary-like format. The videos draw on official legal sources such as prosecutor statements and witness testimonies.

DEADBUG says contains examples of:

  • Catchphrase:
    • "Easy peasy, Japanesey."
    • When someone within a chain of events is mentioned to be doing something, he will say "Probably insert country here food/movie/whatever".
    • Longer videos always begin with "The following is a Deadbug documentary. If you're watching it anywhere else other than my channel, then some thieving fuck stole it."
    • Deadbug says, "Yeah, I know what you're thinking," every time something in the case could easily be interpreted as sexual.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: Deadbug has covered cases involving cannibals, such as the infamous Issei Sagawa.
  • Refuge in Audacity: Deadbug's videos make it clear that he gives no fucks about who he offends with his presentation and humor. He frequently uses politically incorrect and at times derogatory terms in his commentary (e.g. referring to disabled people as "retards" and "cripples"), makes constant sex jokes whenever a case he covers has sexual elements to the crime, uses racist humor (particularly in cases involving Asian people), and explains every gruesome detail regardless of how dark a case is.
  • Running Gag: The weirdness of Japan, particularly their exclusive sport involving handicapped people wrestling, comes up a lot in his videos.
  • Screw the Rules, I'm Beautiful!: His video on seven "fuckable" killers is about convicted murderers who received attention after their sentencing due to their looks.
  • Strange-Syntax Speaker: Due to his accent, he always says "were" where some would say "was" (e.g. "It were about payback").
