"Chad Chad" (born April 8, 1997) is a YouTube commentator and comedian.

Her videos typically focus on ridiculous viral trends, usually on TikTok trends, which she analyzes under the banner "A Twinge of Cringe." Like many commentators of her ilk, she intersperses her videos with comedic skits role-playing exaggerated scenarios based on the trends she's discussing.

Tropes:

  • Accidental Misnaming: Chad keeps calling John, the man whose trampoline she borrows, anything but his real name, such as Jerry or Garrett. "That's not even a J," John replies.
  • Armoured Closet Gay: A Cutaway Gag in "How to be Ladylike" has two podcasters insist that drinking water is gay, mocking the idea of a happy gay couple who genuinely love each other. Then there's a Beat, and one podcaster begins to remark, "I am so thirsty—" before the other one slaps him.
  • Bait-and-Switch Comment: Her announcement at the start of "Internet Challenges are cool and safe" has her reveal a "bun in the over"... then she pulls out a literal loaf of bread from her oven before also pulling out her new YouTooz figure. Then she says she's pregnant... with information on her YouTooz.
  • Blaming the Victim: Played for Laughs. "How to be Ladylike (according to TikTok)" opens with Chad Chad discussing how girls were chastised for small things under the guise of "manners" while boys get completely off the hook, illustrated with a Cutaway Gag in which a boy gets off easily for cutting his sister's hair and burying her alive while his sister is disowned for getting dirt on her clothes after her brother buried her.
  • Blatant Lies: Chad Chad claims her homemade Stanley cup is totally spill-proof despite its open top, while the visuals show it spilling liquid all over the snow.
  • Book on the Head: Chad acts out a "The Hunger Games but for elegant ladies" scenario by dressing in a ballgown and steadily walking with books balanced on her head... then trying (and sometimes failing) to keep the books on her head as she hides and shoots enemies with an arrow.
  • Cutaway Gag: Chad often segues from her commentary into a skit parodying the subject at hand, then returns to her commentary.
  • Hold Up Your Score: Parodied when Chad describes how silly it is to imagine someone judging you on how well you pick things up, leading to a Cutaway Gag in which she picks up a water bottle and is graded with applause and three scorecards reading 8.5, 4, and 6.5.
  • Hypocritical Humor: In "Internet Challenges are cool and safe," Chad Chad says it's stupid that Charlie Charlie's name is just a regular name repeated twice... as a name tag appears on her shirt reminding us what Chad Chad's name is.
  • Once an Episode: Chad introduces every episode by saying "My name is Chad Chad..." then whispering "not really."
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: As she says at the start of every episode, her name isn't really Chad Chad, but she hasn't made her real name public knowledge.
  • Running Gag: "TikTok Knows Nothing About Girls" incorporates a lot of jokes about Chad wanting to have sex with balloons.
  • Skewed Priorities: In a sketch in "The Stanley Cup Craze," people are willing to stop a guy when they think he's selling Stanley cups, but are relieved when he's just kidnapping a baby.
  • Space Whale Aesop: Her takeaway on a video in which wearing a particular hat gives someone knowledge of everyone's biggest secrets is, "Don't talk to people with hats."
  • Stylistic Suck: Her graphics are purposefully and comically lackluster, usually consisting of haphazardly editing her face into stock photos to act out a scene.
  • Toilet Humour: In "How to be Ladylike," a video about how to properly ask to go to the bathroom leads into a sketch in which Chad asks a waiter at Chili's to use the bathroom, only to be chastised as the bathroom left a curse on the waiter's family eighteen years ago, marking them with a forehead scar shaped like a poop emoji. The waiter swears to destroy the toilet, only for Chad to boast that she already did thanks to the Texas cheese fries, leading to much rejoicing.
  • Visual Pun:
    • Often uses her Stylistic Suck Photoshop effects to illustrate a phrase. For example, in "How to be Ladylike," when she says, "So picking your nose is off the table, then?" she animates herself falling off a table.
    • Her homemade Stanley Cup recipe involves printing out a photo of Stan Lee and pasting it onto a cup.
  • What Kind of Lame Power Is Heart, Anyway?: Her video on superhero TikToks has some parodies of oddly specific and less-than-glamorous superpowers, such as wearing marble-cake-print pants that allow you to transform into a marble cake, being able to stick things up your ass after being given unfortunately-shaped candles, or getting constant nausea as a superpower after eating Lexapro (though this somehow turns out to work in her favor by giving her a Breath Weapon).
