Bub Games is an Australian YouTuber best known for his content where he trolls people in online games, particularly in roleplay servers for Garry's Mod, Grand Theft Auto V Online, or Rust. He clearly takes a lot of inspiration from Daniel From SL, adopting a similar monotone voice and playing dumb to infuriate people who take video-games way too seriously.Tropes found in Bub's videos include:
- Awesome Aussie: Bub roleplays as this whenever he goes on killing sprees.
- Berserk Button: Bub gets genuinely mad when someone says a slur over the VC.
- He also gets genuinely annoyed whenever someone recognizes him as Bub Games.
- Blunt "No": One of Bub's catchphrases, usually whenever a server authority tells him to do something. A classic Aussie "nawr" with a questioning inflection, similar to DNSL.
- Griefer: Bub is this, or a "minge" as they're called in GMod.
- Hair-Trigger Temper: In Bub's videos, GMod roleplayers will report him and admins will ban him for the most absurd reasons, something as simple as running.
- Leitmotif: His theme song is an Arabic dark ambient song called Balearia - Anatolia.
- Loads and Loads of Rules: Bub often points out the absolutely ridiculous 5000+ word rulebook that roleplay servers expect you to read and how it's calculated to make sure you'll never have any fun.
- Pædo Hunt: Bub will break character whenever there's a genuine pedophile or child groomer afoot.
- Police Brutality: Whenever Bub becomes a cop in PoliceRP or DarkRP, you can be sure he'll abuse his powers by arresting and killing random people.
- And honestly, the "rule-abiding" cops aren't much better, arresting players for the pettiest reasons since it's a game-mode made to fulfill power-trips.
- Politically Incorrect Villain: This being a toxic multiplayer game, there's no shortage of kids spewing slurs over VC. But the worst of them gather in the 1942 servers, where they roleplay as literal Nazis as an excuse to be racist and homophobic.
- Refuge in Audacity: Bub will often RDM someone, get pulled into an admin sit, deny it, and then precede to RDM the person again right in front of the admin's face before continuing to deny it.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Bub is normally very monotone and careless, and most of his videos reflect that by being comedy videos. But sometimes he'll make serious videos where he exposes genuinely disgusting people like the neo-Nazis who run the 1942 servers or the pedophiles who run the Five Nights at Freddy's server.
- Separated by a Common Language: Bub is almost always mistook for British by roleplayers despite being Australian, much to his chagrin.
- Spiteful Spit: The few time Bub actually roleplays is when he spits in the faces of people over VC. He especially does this to cops to goad them into trying to arrest him.
"Stop Having Fun" Guys: Bub Games's videos expose just how rigid and anti-fun the rules of GMod roleplay servers are. They refuse to humor actual interesting RP scenarios, instead simply tattling to the admin the moment something doesn't conform to their power trip.- Those Wacky Nazis: At least one of the admins who ran the 1942 server (which is about roleplaying as Nazis) turned out to be a member of an actual neo-Nazi group who got arrested at a neo-Nazi rally. Shocker.
