Go To

"Batman Arkham Knight Rewrite" is a fanfiction/wed video created by the Rewriter. It is a Fix Fic to Batman: Arkham Knight.

  • Adaptational Villainy:
    • In the original game and comics, Jason is an Anti-Hero and Jerk with a Heart of Gold. None of those traits are there for this version and he becomes the Big Bad of the game.
    • Poison Ivy did start out villainous but became a reluctant ally to Batman. Here however, she remains a villain.
  • Adaptation Expansion: Nightwing, Robin and Oracle have more focus in this story. Justified as they are ones trying to rescue Batman.
  • Badass in Distress: Batman spends much of story being the hostage of the Arkham Knight.
  • Big Damn Heroes: It's Catwoman who helps the Bat family to cure Batman from Scarecrow's brainwashing.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Jason Todd is finally imprisoned but the damage he has done cannot be reversed. Gotham City turns on Batman who decides to leave. However, Batman is assured that his proteges will continue his mission.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: After being pumped with Scarecrow's new and improved Fear Toxin, Batman becomes a pawn to the Arkham Knight.
  • Broken Pedestal: It starts out with Jason but then everyone except the Batman Family turn on Batman after all the terrible actions he did under Jason's influence.
  • Evil vs. Evil: The Arkham Knight commands his army to fight Harley and her gang. This is actually what the knight counted on. After both forces weakened themselves from the fight, the knight will execute the survivors, allowing Gotham to finally be free.
  • Death by Adaptation:
    • Hush is killed rather than being arrested.
    • Unlike the game, Azrael actually dies, killed by the Arkham Knight.
  • Foil: Robin to Arkham Knight/Jason Todd. Both have grown disilllusioned with Batman's ways on fighting crime. Robin did come to understand about his mentor and stays by his side while Jason refuses to accept it and continues to do more vile actions.
  • Villain Has a Point: Robin agrees fully with Jason that Batman's Thou Shall Not Kill rule has done nothing but allow the criminals to cause further mayhem to Gotham. Nightwing does agree but he also knows why that rule is placed there in the first place: Killing criminals is a solution but sooner or later, what's stopping the person from targeting their sights on someone who did not do criminal acts.
