Aldo 'Saddle Sores' Pocatello: Howdy.

A Fistful of Frickley is a Western/Comedy short film released on YouTube in 2014, on the 24th of December. It is the first official project of 'Frickley Park Productions'. The plot focusses around Ten Pence, a cowboy who can only survive by consuming an energy drink every 24 hours. He is given news by the Mayor of Frickley that an old gang is back in town, The Ivory Sharkfin Tribe, a gang of outlaws that Ten Pence used to be a part of. The gang want Ten Pence back in the gang, and if he refuses, there will be consequences.

This short film provides examples of:

  • Action Duo: Ten Pence and Old Man Bunnykiller to a small extent. It doesn't last long.
  • Alliterative Name: Saddle Sores and Chugwater Chet.
  • Ambiguously Gay: Louis Nickletooth. He acts in a very camp manner at points and says some very promiscuous things towards Ten Pence, such as calling him "honey" and shouting "On your knees boy!" during their fight.
    • On top of all of that, he waddles slightly when he walks.
  • And Starring: And David Koechner as Chugwater Chet.
    • Despite Koechner never physically being in the film.
  • Best Served Cold: To a lesser degree at first with Ten Pence. He is upset over Saddle Sores killing Madge, but due to it being an accident, he did not take revenge and instead left the tribe and moved on. When The Ivory Sharkfin Tribe return, and Saddle Sores kills Old Man Bunnykiller purposefully, then it's time for vengeance.
  • Big Bad: Aldo 'Saddle Sores' Pocatello.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Old Man Bunnykiller shows up just in time to save Ten Pence from getting killed by Saddle Sores.
  • Big "NO!": Ten Pence does this when Saddle Sores crushes Madge in the flashback. Made even bigger by it being played in slow motion.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Ten Pence dies, but he gets to be with his loved ones, including Madge, Old Man Bunnykiller, and his mother. The Ivory Sharkfin Tribe are also all dead, and cannot do any bad on Frickley.
  • Book Ends: In an obvious case, the intro and credits both consist of the same theme song.
  • Boom, Headshot!: How a lot of characters bite it. Saddle Sores, Old Man Bunnykiller and Jed Stunker.
  • Bottomless Magazines: A character is never seen reloading their guns no matter how many bullets they fire, which is a LOT. This however is intended, and played for comedy.
  • Brick Joke: Bunnykiller's Beard "dies" and flies away. We don't expect to see it again, but during the climax, it returns with impact, tackling Jed and allowing Ten Pence to finish him off with a head shot.
  • Butt-Monkey: Jed Stunker. He gets tackled, stabbed, smashed in the face by Bunnykiller's Beard and finally shot in the head by Ten Pence.
  • Cerebus Syndrome: A very toned down version. Whilst the film remains silly and goofy the whole way through, the first half is much more ridiculous and laxidaisical than the second. Then the shootout begins, the villains are introduced, and Old Man Bunnykiller dies, and the film suddenly whips into a bit more of a serious mood as tension is introduced for Ten Pence.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Saddle Sores. In the initial shootout, he stays back and fires at Ten Pence whilst the others rush at him. Again, in their final duel at the end, he attempts to outsmart and trick Ten Pence into lowering his guard so he can shoot him. It doesn't work however.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: Chugwater Chet has his head ripped clean from his neck by Nickletooth, using his bare hands...yikes.
  • Cruel Mercy: The Tribe keep Ten Pence alive, knowing that he will die after 24 hours of not drinking an energy drink. That way, he has longer to think about the losses that he has sustained. This ends up getting every single member of The Ivory Sharkfin Tribe killed.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Chugwater Chet vs Louis Nickletooth. It's over in seconds, and ends with Chet's head seperated from the rest of his body. We get one again when Nickletooth faces off against Ten Pence. Whilst this one is a lot less one sided, and Ten Pence does get some hits in, Nickletooth still dominates the whole thing. Ten Pence has to resort to shooting him to win.
  • Curse Cut Short: "You finally got me, you son of a b-" are Saddle Sores' last words, before Ten Pence fires a bullet through his brain.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: For not re-joining their gang, after they killed his wife, The Ivory Sharkfin Tribe see it fit to kill Ten Pence's best friend, and then deprive him of his life source so over the next 24 hours he can think over the people he has lost, before he dies himself. The retribution Ten Pence gets on them for this, is in turn, not disproportionate.
  • "Everybody Dies" Ending: Every character in A Fistful Of Frickley dies. Good guys, bad guys, and all. There's legitimately not a single character we get introduced to who doesn't end up dead.
  • Evilis Hammy: The Ivory Sharkfin Tribe are all rather over-the-top at points.
  • Funny Background Event: When Ten Pence is explaining to Chugwater Chet that he used to be in the Ivory Sharkfin Tribe, Old Man Bunnykiller can be seen in the background, trying to put his beard back on his face.
  • Large Ham: Everyone hams it up, but Louis Nickletooth and Old Man Bunnykiller are the two largest of hams.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: To all of The Ivory Sharkfin Tribe, but most particularly to Saddle Sores. He ends up the victim of almost the exact same scenario in which he killed Old Man Bunnykiller, in that he attempts to say his last words to Ten Pence, but is cut short by a bullet to the head. His death is essentially a gorier version of Bunnykiller's.
  • Mood Whiplash: The film goes from silly comedy to uncharacteristically serious when Bunnykiller gets killed.
  • Not Even Bothering with the Accent: Most of the cast are barely trying to sound convincingly Southern American, or dip in and out of an accent. This though is played for laughs.
  • No Woman's Land: The only female in the whole film is Madge, who herself is an Energy Drink Can, and only appears in a flashback, and as a ghost.
  • Profane Last Words: Saddle Sores has 'You finally got me, you son of a bitch.' Though, Ten-Pence puts a bullet through his head before he can fully finish the curse.
  • Obi-Wan Moment: Old Man Bunnykiller seems to know when his time is up, and takes the opportunity to tell Ten Pence that his mother would've been proud of him, just before he's finished off by Saddle Sores.
  • Quick Draw: We get one at the end between Ten Pence and Saddle Sores, but that Saddle Sores tries to sneakily deceive Ten Pence during as to ensure he can come out on top. It doesn't work.
  • There Is No Kill Like Overkill: Ten Pence blows about 30 holes through Nickletooth. Perhaps justified, Nickletooth definitely deserves it.
  • World of Ham: Extremely so. Everyone hams it up to a certain degree, even the Narrator.
