Pokemon Mystery Tourney is a mashup tourney hosted on SoundCloud inspired by and originally spawned from Diary of a Tourney Kid. In it, 16 Chosen Heroes are pitted against each other to save the world.
The tourney follows the adventure between the 16 selected few, all just (for the most part) casually duking it out.
When you lose twice. You are Sent to the Pokemon world, transformed into a Pokemon Themselves.
Tropes:
- Absurdly High-Stakes Game: The Threat of death looms over the contestants heads, no information on how dangerous the task is (although viewers can make an inferred guess based on events taken place in the tournament) & Some contestants, like Super Lesbian Sisters, are out for blood.
- Homage: The Tournament was originally a "Mini Tournament" based on Diary of a Tourney Kid, outright called Diary of a Tourney Kid Mystery Dungeon, it has since dropped it but still has its origins.
- Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny: Characters both real and fictional competing against each other to see who will be the last one standing.
