"True Loves Story" is a Sonic the Hedgehog fan Webcomic created by SonicXKimmy172, who is also known for the infamous badfic Chlorine Grown Roses. The first page was uploaded to DeviantArt on 30 October 2016. True Loves Story was originally intended to be a Fanime (two previews of which were uploaded to Kim's YouTube channel
), but due to various difficulties involving the voice actors (particularly those of Sonic), the fanime project was eventually cancelled and turned into a webcomic. The comic can be read here.
The plot is based around Kimmy Sakura, the main character, who makes a wish for true love. Then, Kimmy and her friends, Hikari Smith and Cheyenne Neko, transform into two hedgehogs and a cat, respectively. The rest of the plot is currently unknown.
True Loves Story contains examples of:
- A Dog Named "Dog": Cheyenne Neko transforms into a cat
- Alternate Universe: Towards Chlorine Grown Roses, SonicXKimmy172's other work.
- Ambiguously Brown: Cheyenne, though she could be a tanned Japanese person due to her surname.
- The author confirmed in her Discord server that Cheyenne is Native American.
- Animesque: The art style, if anything, is definitely this. The comic even goes as far as to remind the readers to read from right to left, just like in a manga.
- Blonde, Brunette, Redhead: Well, if you replace brunette with well, greenette
- By the Power of Grayskull!: Kimmy chants "Transformation Start" before touching her necklace. Hikari also shouts that phrase before her transformation.

- Department of Redundancy Department: In the second sneak peek. To quote Cheyenne: "But he's moving tomorrow. And today is his last day. Because he's moving. To Australia."
- Demoted to Extra: Tails is beheaded in the first trailer which leads many to believe he'll be subjected to this.
- Henshin: The main characters transform into hedgehogs and a cat. See Transformation Sequence.

Executive Meddling: The first episode has been delayed several times due to voice-actor problems. The most recent problem is that apparently all voice actors for sonic quit prematurely, and due to the fact that the author doesn't accept help from anyone on the internet, the fanime had to be canceled and turned into a comic instead. - Gratuitous Japanese:
- At the end of their transformation, the character's first name followed by 'the hedgehog' starts blinking on screen written in Japanese.
- In the comic, before she leaves home Kimmy says "Ittekimasu"
- Interspecies Romance: Sonic and Kimmy, to an extent; Kimmy is still a human, despite being able to transform into a hedgehog.
- Late for School:
- Hikari. She even has a piece of toast in her mouth.
- The comic opens up with Kimmy waking up late and having to run to school while her inner monologue states she's never late for school
- Make a Wish: This seems to be the premise for the first trailer.
- Running Sequence: The opening has one. With an astonishing two frames per character. The ending might also have one where Kimmy just teleports forwards, though it may be up to debate whether that's supposed to be her walking or not.
- Saying Sound Effects Out Loud: In the second sneak peek one can hear Kimmy's voice actress say 'beep!' before picking up the phone.
- Second Love: According to the first sneak-peek, Kimmy has a crush on a boy who isn't Sonic.
- Transformation Sequence: Kimmy and Hikari have one to turn into hedgehogs, complete with chanting and turning white. Cheyenneh probably will get one in the future too.
- Transformation Trinket: Kimmy's necklace seems to be one. The way it is presented in the trailer, she receives it after making her wish. Strangely enough, Hikari is confirmed to not need one in her transformation sequence.
