Steve and Carlos is a Machinima based on Halo 4 and made by GH NaTHaN following Steve and Carlos as they are trapped on an island together. Hilarity Ensues.
It also follows Agent Zero and company's endeavors against Doktor Vandike before the agent himself got a series of his own.

- 24-Hour Armor: They definitely seem to wear their armor all the time. And always carry their guns.
- Accidental Public Confession: Steve mentioning he did something to the coffee machine in Episode 1, however it's hard to tell if it is this trope or if Carlos had found the coffee machine missing and Steve had assumed like the audience he had found what he had done to the fridge.
- All Work vs. All Play: Steve is a rather mellow guy who enjoys fun, Carlos is a workaholic with a tendency to try and stab Steve. ... However Carlos' workaholic tendencies are first even mentioned in the episode with Steve and Carlos switching positions as maintainer of everything and slackoff, a plot reliant on this trope.
- Bad Boss: Doktor Vandike repeatedly kills his own minions over slights.
- Big Bad: Doktor Vandike.
- Big Red Button: Carlos leads Steve to believe he's fallen victim to this trope on accident, for all of 10 seconds. It was the fire alarm.
- Birthday Episode: Episode 3 is Steve's birthday.
- Butt-Monkey: Carlos, Steve, and Agent Zero all seem subject to this sort of treatment, albiet offscreen a number of times when it's slapstick due to limitations. Carlos however mostly gets to be a Butt Monkey in more verbal ways.
- By "No", I Mean "Yes": In Episode 2, when Steve points out their own sarcasm.
- Card-Carrying Villain: Doktor Vandike is a self admitted Evil Genius.
- *Click* Hello: Carlos and Steve pointing their guns at Doktor Vandike.
- Daydream Surprise: Episode 6 when Carlos stabs Steve.
- Death Row: Both Steve and Carlos were apparently on this before they were stranded. They managed to avoid being killed at their own execution fortunately.
- Die, Chair, Die!: Steve really loves knocking over traffic cones, for some reason.
- Driven to Suicide: Steve, unexpectedly, shoots himself in the head out of what seems to be homesickness over the Island.
- Expy: Doktor Vandike is one for O'Malley complete with purple armor, deep voice and hammy personality.
- Foregone Conclusion: Most of the plot twist end up as this for Agent Zero. With only Steve's death not being mentioned in said series.
- Fridge Logic: In Universe, Steve points out it doesn't make sense for them to go from a hot island to a cold tundra-y place to a desert seemingly mid-war. It's because it's a simulation.
- Gadgeteer Genius: Steve somehow has made a Car out of a Fridge and what appears to be a welder out of a coffee machine.
- Herr Doktor: Both Doktor Vandike and Ralph.
- Heterosexual Life-Partners: Steve and Carlos ultimately seem to be this, even if they seem to hate each other. This seems to be Carlos' driving motivation to go back in the Simulation.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Carlos traps himself in the simulation to bring Steve back with him. He gets called gay for his trouble.
- Just Between You and Me: Being an Evil Villain cliche, Doktor Vandike of course indulges in this. Though he does have his limits.
- Mister Seahorse: Steve thinks Carlos has come down with this trope in episode 3.
- Sanity Slippage: Carlos gets hit with this in Season 2. If you have no one but one person to interact with for a substantial amount of time, then you will get sick of them, especially if you were already Vitriolic Best Buds to begin with. Needless to say, Carlos has gone completely insane after being trapped in the simulation with Steve for a whopping one-hundred years.
- Running Gag: They seem to be overly reliant on this from the get-go, by Episode 5 they're already Lampshade Hanging Carlos' quickly established Catchphrase.
- Security Blanket: Carlos has one of these in the form of a Teddy Bear named Dr. Snuzzyness that they deny the existence of.
- Shout-Out: In the first episode they seem to take a portion of an exchange from DBZ AbridgedSteve: What'cha doing Carlos?Carlos: Nothing much just standing around.Steve: Standing around?Carlos: Standing around.
- And again in Episode 7 with the roles reversed.
- Then in the second episode they do a gag about calling their car a Mammoth, and Carlos points out the same reasoning could get it called a Warthog.
- And then in Episode 7: You ever wonder why we're here?
- And in the third Carlos says to Steve while the latter is blindfolded: use the force.
- Elementary my dear Steve, Elementary.
- Steve can be seen watching another of GH NaTHaN's Machinimas in Episode 12.
- The Stinger: Doktor Vandike hires The Assassin for something regarding Agent Zero at the end of the series.
- Stuff Blowing Up: How Steve gets rid of the Mammoth in Episode 2 when Carlos says taking it apart with the thing made out of the coffee machine is taking too long.
- Sound-Effect Bleep: Most if not all cases of F**king are treated with this, however damn is not. It's because of the Simulation.
- Suddenly Shouting: This certainly seems to be the intent sometimes with Carlos, however the voice acting of it seems limited in how loud they can go while doing that voice.
- Tempting Fate: Steve urges Carlos not to check on their distress signal while they're exploring the Island. Of course this is when an General Katan and Agent Zero picks up on their signal. Then later Carlos stated repeatedly there's no one to worry about who would attack them. Then they get attacked.
- This Is Reality: Steve manages to correctly guess exactly what is going on in Episode 17 and Carlos dismisses him with this trope.
- Plot Twist: General Katan sold out Agent Zero to Doktor Vandike due to being Blackmailed. This is presented as a huge twist, even though this is only revealed on Episode 18 of Steve and Carlos and takes place only a few episodes in within Agent Zero's continuity. Oh and also Steve and Carlos are in a simulation. And Steve kills himself.
- Villain Protagonist: Well Steve and Carlos used to work for Doktor Vandike at least, according to the video description of the first video.
- Vitriolic Best Buds: Carlos threatens to stab Steve repeatedly throughout the series. Steve insults Carlos throughout the series. They're still best friends.
