The gang in the newly added fourth episode, with Mr Krabs and Yakon. Oh, and Gary.

SpongeBob in Paranormal Activity is a a series of YouTube videos based around SpongeBob SquarePants, and it follows the title character and his friends as they fight off a demon who invaded Bob and Patrick's new home.

The original series was created by Panchitomatrix, and it can be viewed on his channel here.

A remastered version (that also includes newly added chapters) was created and published on The Superverse channel.

SpongeBob in Paranormal Activity provides examples of:

  • Advertised Extra: Gary appears alongside all main characters in thumbnails in the new episodes but other than revealing to the group that holy water is effective against Yakon, his few appearances are mostly for comic relief.
  • Amicable Exes: Patrick and SpongeBob, as well as SpongeBob and Sandy. She still has feelings for him, too.
  • Anguished Declaration of Love: Sandy and Bob exchange these when they're in the bedroom alone. Cue
  • Ascended Extra: In the original series, Mr. Krabs only appears in a cameo. The new episode has him join the group in their demon hunting.
  • Better as Friends: Apparently, Bob and Pat did date at one point in the past, but now their relationship is basically just Friends with Benefits. This is also revealed to be the case with Bob and Sandy.
  • Big Bad: Yakon is this in the original series, terrorizing SpongeBob and Patrick constantly. He get Demoted to Dragon in the new chapters and DoodleBob takes over as the main antagonist, his goal being getting revenge on SpongeBob for erasing him.
  • Black Comedy Rape: One of the series' running gags is characters getting raped by Yakon, complete with squeaky sound effects. Not to mention the victim's disturbed state afterwards.
  • Blatant Lies: Every time a character gets raped, they will ask why they didn't get any help and the other reply with "We didn't hear anything! We swear!" even though we know that they heard everything.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: Happens quite a few times:
    • Mr Krabs' contraption consists of a dildo ready to be shoved inside of him, and it's censored. DoodleBob points out that this is done so YouTube doesn't take the video down.
    • Squidward's contraption is basically him stuck in a hole in a wall by the ass. Behind the wall is one of the rapist demons from Hell. When DoodleBob points to the demon, he tells him to wave to the camera behind the wall.
    • When Patrick gets mad about Bob and Sandy making love, Sponge manages to calm him down by telling him that he's his Best Friend and they've been through 20 years on Nickelodeon. SpongeBob also points out that Patrick has been staring at Squidward the whole series.
    • When Bob is about to call Sandy, he accidentally presses the speed dial for Krabs, then he remarks that Krabs is not gonna be in an episode yet.
  • Bring My Brown Pants: Patrick has a Running Gag where he pisses himself whenever he witnesses paranormal activity on camera, particularly the door moving by itself.
  • Butt-Monkey: Patrick. He gets raped the most, discovers that his Best Friend SpongeBob had sex with Sandy, betraying his relationship with him and at one point, he ended up wearing a female monster's costume that had a plasma bomb installed for Yakon. It exploded on him instead.
  • Demoted to Dragon: In the original series, Yakon is the only antagonist encountered by the main cast. In the new chapters, Yakon is seen speaking with a new character whom he calls boss. It's DoodleBob who takes over as the Big Bad.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Everyone is shocked and disgusted with DoodleBob when he decides to erase Yakon because he's no longer useful to him.
  • Everyone Went to School Together: When Squidward asks SpongeBob how he and Pat know Goku, SpongeBob replies that he and Pat went to high school together.
  • Eyebrow Waggle: Patrick does this the first time he suggest having "appreciation time" with SpongeBob.
  • False Reassurance: SpongeBob's Running Gag where he plays off any sound as "just a burglar".
  • Friends with Benefits: Ultimately SpongeBob's and Patrick's relationship here. At one point while reminiscing with Sandy, SpongeBob mentions that he did date Pat, but later he tells the latter that this trope is what they are.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: DoodleBob in the new chapters. After being erased by SpongeBob, he ended up in Hell where his punishment was to be raped constantly by demons. This is where he met Yakon and made a deal with him to get revenge on those who killed them.
  • Hell Is That Noise: A few times throughout, starting with Patrick hearing the monster's footsteps downstairs at night.
  • It's Personal: DoodleBob claims he would've left everyone else alone because he was only targeting SpongeBob.
    • Squidward also says this to Doodle when the latter tries to deflect the cast's attempt to fight him by saying that Squidward doesn't even like SpongeBob.
  • The Man Behind the Man: DoodleBob. After he was erased by SpongeBob, he was left to float in a void until he got sent to hell where he was destined to be raped constantly by demons for eternity. This is where he met Yakon, who was different from the others because he was there due to getting killed by Goku. Thus, they made a deal to escape and avenge those who brought them to hell.
  • Origins Episode: Chapter 0 that has been released with the new episodes shows Patrick and Bob arriving in their new house for the first time and why they decided to try and detect paranormal activity.
  • Revenge: Yakon's and DoodleBob's ultimate goal is to get revenge on Goku and SpongeBob, the two people responsible for their deaths, respectively.
  • Reverse Psychology: Sandy uses this on Doodle to avoid getting raped in the contraption he prepared for her by claiming that she actually wants for it to happen. It works, but it leaves her stuck in said contraption.
  • Rule of Three: The original series has three episodes.
  • Running Gag: Someone getting raped during night, then the next morning when they are asked if they're okay, they'll reply with no and say the monster raped them all night long. Then they ask why nobody helped them, to which everyone else replies with "We didn't hear anything! We swear!"
    • Patrick wetting his pants whenever he sees something creepy on the security footage.
    Patrick: That's scary, dude.
    • Whenever they wake up to a strange sound downstairs...
  • Sex in a Shared Room: Played for Laughs when Gary goes to the bedroom and goes wide-eyed at Bob and Pat doing it. Twice.
  • Sex with the Ex: Patrick and SpongeBob regularly in a Friends with Benefits way. On the other hand, Sponge has this with Sandy because they think they can't die suppressing their still lingering feelings for each other. Pat is mad when he find them doing that.
  • Tempting Fate:
Squidward: Right now, we're in good shape. We still have everything but outside contact. [Power goes out and the screen goes black]. You had to jinx it, didn't you, Mr Squidward?
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Patrick is appalled when he finds Bob and Sandy doing it and he calls Bob out on it.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: DoodleBob erases Yakon out of existence once he has SpongeBob and co. in his clutches.
  • You Just Had to Say It: See Tempting Fate above.
