Living in yet another world of multicolored Marios

SMG4 Accommodations is a non-profit collaborative fan project based on Supermarioglitchy4's Super Mario 64 Bloopers. The fan project aims to tackle the "Modern" era of SMG4, but with the style and humor of the older videos.

The story begins with Mario causing chaos as per usual. When he finds a mysterious blue drink and ingests it, the glass reveals itself to be a demon who needs Mario's help to ensure that its future comes to pass and in doing so, creates an SMG4 timeline that's similar, yet not quite the same.

Tropes:

  • Alternate Timeline: To the canon SMG4 series.
  • Black Comedy: Naturally, since the project aims to emulate the older style, which was loaded with it.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • In the pilot, Luigi mentions having to go to the Casino again since the brothers are in so much debt, referencing Luigi's curse in "Casino, Cards and Chaos".
    • MIPS' cameo in the pilot has him going crazy over chocolate like in "The Explosive Easter Hunt".
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: The Demon Anomaly when trying to get Mario to buy the sapper tape over Spaghetti.
Demon: Mario, I already know which one you want... but purchase the sapper. we spent nearly the entire blooper thus far trying to get it.
  • Demonic Possession: When it looks like Mario isn't going to buy the sapper tape, the Demon Anomaly possesses Mario directly to ensure they aren't sent back to square one.
  • Disproportionate Retribution:
    • Mario's response to his wallet getting incinerated is to crucify Luigi.
    • Saiko's response to Boopkins not liking her locking away his waifu pillows is to cage every female on the planet so that none of them are a threat to her position as Boopkins' soulmate. Meggy lampshades this when Saiko tells her this.
Meggy: Don't you think you're taking it too far?
  • Foreshadowing: As the demon slowly gets annoyed with Mario, it tells him that it'll take control of his body if it has to. This ends up being exactly what happens.
  • For Want Of A Nail: Invoked. The branching point away from the main SMG4 timeline is a demon from the future coming back to the beginning of 2018 and deliberately altering the SMG4 script itself to ensure that its future comes to pass.
  • Our Demons Are Different: The Demon Anomaly, which can change into a liquid form that, when ingested, allows for mental communication with the host and outright possession.
  • Shown Their Work: The project does an excellent job at emulating the older SMG4 style, but goes further by keeping characters true to their established characterizations, making Call Backs to more obscure older episodes, referencing old Running Gags and featuring appearances from more obscure characters like Female Steve.
  • Stealth Prequel: The end of the pilot reveals that it takes place shortly before "Hunt for the Egg of Draconius GO", putting it at the very beginning of 2018.
  • Tempting Fate: After finally scoring a valentine in the form of a Magikoopa dressed as Peach, SMG4 remarks that he hopes nothing bad happens to her... just before Bowser lays eyes on her.
  • Time Travel: The Demon Anomaly travels from an alternate future to ensure that this future is the one the world will have.
  • Wall of Text: How the Demon Anomaly's explanation at the end of the pilot is portrayed.
  • Yandere: Saiko, as she initially was in canon, but Accommodations changes the context behind her going off the deep end.
