Animate Inanimate Objects, and Cartoon Creatures? Where do we sign up!?note
"Welp, the two touched. We're all gonna die."
Oklawk, "Otherworbly Ravenous Beast"

Otherworldly Ravenous Beast (also known as ORB) is a Brazilian-animated web series set in a post-apocalyptic future in the 3000's created by Steppi Berry which spices up your regular Object Show with its diverse, uniquely-design cast not limited to just anthropomorphic objects, breathtaking visuals and backgrounds and a non-tradition competition plot jammed packed with adventure and Slice of Life comedy. The show started production in late 2018 and premiered on December 5th, 2020

In this object show (or as Steppi likes to say, "ORBject show"), a small, growing community of creatures living on a sentient planet Earth risk their daily lives from being changed forever by an unleased eight-million-year-old Ancient Evil, the Title Character themself, ORB. From there, the destructive, two-orb comprising entity threatens to mess with the laws of reality, bring havoc towards their once-peaceful land and worst of all, make some of them partake in challenges on their competition show.

But it isn't your normal Object Show competition - each episode, ORB will add a new curse onto the world which the contestants must deal with for the rest of the game. If they manage to complete all their challenges, they will leave and remove the curses. The show, however, does have teams and traditional voting.

Half-competition, half-adventure and all chaos, the show awaits with this official playlist.

Tropes in this ORBject show include:

  • A Dog Named "Dog": Surprisingly, not every character is named this way. However, its still here.
  • After the End: The series is set somewhere in the 3000's, after an unknown apocalyptic event wiped out humanity.
  • A Lizard Named "Liz": No "-y" suffix this time around, but some characters' names are a play of their species. For example, the name of the furry-headed Winged Humanoid is Fuzz.
  • Animate Inanimate Object: Interestingly, this show's cast doesn't just consist mostly of objects with one or two non-object "joke characters" thrown in for good measure. While Otherworldly Ravenous Beast still has some anthropomorphic objects as with other shows of this genre, a good chunk of the cast are unidentifiable, sapient creatures.
  • Animation Bump: When Magma Hand grasps for ORB's lower orb, she becomes more realistically proportioned and a fluid, slow-motion shot takes place.
  • Anthropomorphic Food: Citrus and Gumdrop.
  • Armless Biped: Despite not following conventional object shows, Otherworldly Ravenous Beast still plays it straightnote , inverts itnote , and throws in limbless characters for good measurenote , just like the genre it falls under.
  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: When asking him to take care of Soot, Robert Flower suggests Fuzz in using various tools in his shed, including the Void Vacuum, the Beast Broom, the Hand-Spade-Saw-Blade, and some soap.
  • Audience Participation: The show uses a viewer-voting system for the foreseeable future.
  • Cartoon Creature: Some of the characters. These include Fuzz, a furry-headed Cyborg with insect antennae and bird wings, and Zo, whose species is not clear at all. However, some of the Cartoon Creatures in the show are vaguely object-like, such as Clubs (who resembles a hut with a door). It's also unknown if any of the Cartoon Creatures are the only members of their respective species or not.
  • Character Title: ORB is the titular otherworldly ravenous beast.
  • Flying Postman: Fuzz delivers a letter to Soot in the short "Pen Pals".
  • Fourth-Wall Mail Slot: Announced in "Pen Pals", people can ask questions to the characters in the comments for them to answer as long as it isn't Not Safe for Work, invasive, or an attempt to fish for spoilers. People can support the show on Patreon to raise their odds for a response.
  • Genius Loci: The show is actually set on Earth. No, not the Earth we live on, but a living planet of this kind named Earth.
  • LGBT Representation in Media: The characters are not explicitly given a gender, but instead given pronouns. This is to let the characters explore and adopt the identity that they are comfortable with.
  • No Focus on Humans: No one in the show is human, and Ozzy outright stated that humans are extinct.
  • Pun-Based Title: Every episode so far has the word "orb" written somewhere within it.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: In "Otherworbly Ravenous Beast," Boxcars unknowingly unleashes ORB by having the two orbs they were sealed in touch each other inside Clubs.
  • Theme Tune: Introduced in the second episode. Also a No Theme Tune.
  • Title Drop: ORB says their full name, and the words appear in large 3D letters on-screen as they speak.
  • Visual Pun:
    • Sort of done in "Otherworbly Ravenous Beast". The Skier, a tiny stick figure, is seen vaulting off of A, a tiny mountain.
    • From the short "Pen Pals":
Fuzz: We haven't gotten random letters in a while... (Mailboxer shoots random alphabet letters from its mouth)...Except for spam...
