"Minecraft For Noobs" is an ongoing series from Moldovan animator Alex Crish. Starting in August 12, 2011, the series stars a cat called Basya, the unwanted tag-along rabbit called Peter and an unnamed narrator, exploring the world of Minecraft, and explaining how it works (or rather, the narrator explaining how it works, and Basya/Peter having to learn from it, usually the hard way.) It also functions as a parody, respectfully mocking some of Minecraft's odd quirks and logic, providing more humor than your average tutorial. The series has seen great success, with both the Russian and English translations having recived millions of views.

Alex Crish has started remastering his older videos, with new gags, remastered visuals, and updated information. so far, only the first two videos, and the original trailer for the series, have been remastered.

Here is the playlist, with remastered videos found here.

Minecraft For Noobs contains examples of:

  • Art Evolution: Alex Crish has greatly changed his drawing, voice acting, and animation abilities. a comparison of the origonal and remastered versions of the 1st episode shows that drastically.

  • Big Fancy House: Peter used to live in a gigantic skyscraper made of diamonds and gold before part 9, where he destroyes it.

  • Bring My Brown Pants: The Narrator implies he crapped his pants after a creeper attack in the remastered version of part 2. Twice.

  • Butt-Monkey: Baysa, his 1st appearance has him literally spawn inside the ground, and is often subject to physical abuse from the game, and occasional mockery from the narrator. Peter is also sometimes treated like this past episode 9.

  • De-power: Peter willingly relinquishes his creative mode powers in part 9, due to Basya daring him to "play like a regular". He doesn't fare well without them.

  • Extreme Omnivore: Type 2. Baysa sometimes eats inedible items, such as iron ore, dirt, or redstone, to represent it going into his inventory

  • Fur Is Clothing: Baysa takes off his fur before bed in part 11, although he still retains his white color. He also gets a hole in his "pants" in part 16, and uses Peter's fur to supply his village with beds in part 13, leaving Peter wearing a Bankruptcy Barrel.

  • Horrible Housing: Pretty much all of Baysa's village is made of this. all the structures, save for the security fence and a giant statue of Baysa are made of dirt, and the Narrator says "The overall quality of life is at minimal level".

  • Interactive Narrator: The narrator is as much a main character as the other two, even going absent in parts 11 and 12.

  • Pain to the Ass: Baysa gits a pin stuck into his butt via Peter in part 15, after he teleports directly onto him attempting to do voodoo on Baysa.

  • Pull a Rabbit out of My Hat: In part 15, Baysa pulls Peter's child out of a top hat. The thing he actually wanted to pull out, a stack of paper, was eaten by said child.

  • Rump Roast: In part 11, after burning a pile of hoes he bought out of frustration, Basya has an ember from the flame burn his ass, sending hum scooting all the way up to his treehouse.

  • Saved by the Coffin: Someone who looks like Peter hides in a coffin in part 12 after getting caught planting carrots on Baysa's house, though in the end of part 14, Peter claims its not him, so who this is is unknown.

  • Use Your Head: Basya is occasionally fond of this when mining. There is a non zero chance he will eat what he broke too.
