Examples:

  • Action Girl: Kiki. Even before becoming a Magical Girl, she signed up for martial arts back in middle school.
  • Alas, Poor Villain: Arashi’s bullies, both of whom get beaten to death by her in episode 12. One holds on long enough for the Headmaster to call for help, but ultimately dies in her arms… while hallucinating the Headmaster as her mother, and her final words expressing concern for her friend. When news of the deaths reaches the student body, many are horrified and even those who knew of them being bullies felt they didn’t deserve that.
  • Alpha Bitch: The two cheerleaders that bully Arashi.
  • Badass Teacher: Coach Ko and the Headmaster, both being quite powerful and agile magical women.
  • Break the Cutie: Poor Arashi! After being beat up so many times, by the time Episode 11 comes, she takes matters into her own hands to make the bullying stop, even at the price of being arrested and having her memories wiped.
  • Break-Up/Make-Up Scenario: Kiki and Naname go through this when Kiki unknowingly talks badly about Naname in front of her.
  • Conflicting Loyalty: During the fight between Wisp and Vibra, Monsoon can't seem to be happy when Vibra, of his own team, is beating the opposing team's Wisp.
  • The Determinator: Puki. Even though she cannot be healed with magic, she still stays in the team and sets herself to win so she does not get too injured.
  • Friendly Rivalry: Monsoon and Bell seem to always be in competition with one another, but it all seems to be in good fun.
  • Friendship Moment: When Wisp comforts Monsoon after the cheerleaders misgender him.
  • Love at First Sight: Genji seems to think she loves Juliet after seeing her just once when she becomes a cheerleader.
  • Love Confession: Wisp declares she wants to be Monsoon's girlfriend in episode 12.
  • The Medic: Nurse Harmony, aided by her healing magic.
  • Offscreen Romance: After Wisp confesses to Monsoon, they're very close together in a later scene, indicating Monsoon must have accepted her feelings. How it went down, however, is a mystery.
  • Polar Opposite Twins: Puki and Kiki. Puki is the smart/sensible twin while Kiki is the muscle-headed twin.
  • Power Crystal: The source of every magical girl's power are one of the five crystals deeply buried in five different countries.
  • Power Trio: Most magical girl teams consist of 3 people.
  • Secret Identity: All the girls are under an illusions spell to keep their identities private, including from each other. Puki is the only one out of the 6 that is immune to the spell and any illusions, with a side effect being that she can't be magically healed.
  • Stepford Smiler: Naname falls into the "Depressed" category. She's often found hiding behind a smile, until Kiki helps her open up more.
  • Twincest: Subverted when Kiki believes Puki, as magical girl Juliet, has a crush on her. Puki is disgusted. Kiki is relieved that who she believes is not related to her does not like her. She quote "Doesn't have time for people to like (her)."
  • Unwitting Muggle Friend: Subverted, as Puki is a magical girl and knows Kiki is a magical girl, but can't confess her secret because she knows Kiki would prevent her from continuing.
