Friday Night Hunkin' is a miniseries of Friday Night Funkin' animations created by Doobus Goobus. The animations focus on a muscular version of Boyfriend and his interactions with the other characters of Friday Night Funkin' with Girlfriend by his side.

Friday Night Hunkin' provides examples of:

  • Adaptational Curves: Boyfriend, Girlfriend, Pico, Mommy Mearest and Senpai. Boyfriend and Pico are more muscular, Senpai has massive legs, and Girlfriend and Mommy Mearest are bustier.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy:
    • Mommy Mearest is kinder to Boyfriend rather than being as willing to antagonize him as her husband.
    • Sonic.exe never tries to antagonize Boyfriend and Girlfriend and his personality doesn't seem to be much different from Doobus Goobus' usual depiction of Sonic.
  • Adaptational Species Change:
    • Monster (aka Lemon Demon) has gone from being a shadowy demon with a lemon-shaped head to a literal lemon.
    • Implied with Senpai since there aren't any references to his game Hating Simulator, making him full-on human rather than a Dating Sim Character
  • Adaptational Wimp:
    • Daddy Dearest, who Boyfriend crushes in his hand. By the time of Episode 5, he's still squashed.
    • Monster, who is now just a walking lemon that gets squeezed to make lemonade.
  • All Just a Dream: Episode 3 is just the Boyfriend’s dream of seeing Pico again.
  • Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: Mommy Mearest is unknowingly this to Girlfriend. In Episode 4, she flirts with her daughter's boyfriend in front of her daughter, despite her daughter's protests. In Episode 5, she shows Boyfriend scrapbook photos of Girlfriend's 13th birthday. Girlfriend is so embarrassed that she demands that her mom go back to flirting with Boyfriend.
  • April Fools' Day: An episode based off of five mods (specifically VS Whitty, Smoke 'Em Out Struggle, Starving Artist, The Tricky Mod, and Vs Sonic.exe) was uploaded on April 1st, 2022.
  • The Artifact: Episode 6 has Girlfriend lampshade that the boom boxes they hang around are rather pointless since Boyfriend was only ever shown rapping once.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Just as Tankman is about to use his tank to kill Boyfriend and Girlfriend in Episode 7, Pico gets temporarily resurrected by Jesus Christ himself and turned into an alligator that proceeds to devour Tankman.
  • Big Guy, Little Guy: Tankman is much larger than his subordinate Steve.
  • Blatant Lies: Skid and Pump claim it's Spooky Month in April, with them scribbling Spooky Month on the calendar to prove it. Girlfriend buys it.
  • Bowdlerise:
    • Episode 4 (Mommy Mearest) has all curse words and references to sex censored in the Youtube version, but are kept intact in the Newgrounds version.
    • Episode 7 (Tankman) was demonetized due to Tankman saying the C-Word, and reuploaded with the word censored with "jerks" instead. Fortunately, the original version can still be viewed on Newgrounds.
  • British Teeth: Boyfriend's teeth are shown to be crooked whenever he opens his mouth wide enough.
  • Company Cross References: Channel in this case, Sonic.exe is portrayed by Doobus' own version of Sonic.
  • Curse Cut Short: In Episode 7, Tankman gets cut off by a scene change before he can call Boyfriend and Girlfriend "dicks".
  • Death by Adaptation:
    • Pico is a Posthumous Character and Boyfriend's Lost Lenore in this series, with the implication he didn't survive a school shooting.
    • Tankman gets mauled alive by Pico after trying to kill Boyfriend.
    • All the guest characters sans Garcello (who dies in his mod anyway) and X in "Mods" die.
  • Did I Mention It's Christmas?: The only references to it being Christmastime in Episode 5 are Daddy Dearest and Mommy Mearest being dressed like Mr. and Mrs. Claus and a sign in the back saying that it's apparently Christmas.
  • Dies Differently in Adaptation: Senpai has a heart attack attempting to touch his toes in this series rather than Spirit breaking free from his face, Spirit is still summoned to this world through Senpai's mouth though.
  • Entitled Bastard: Skid and Pump tell Boyfriend to give them his lollipop, on behalf of it being Spooky Month (It's April). When he refuses, they send out an arrow to knock the lollipop out of his hand and run off with it.
  • Fat Bastard: Tankman is given a round body in this series, and he's just as unpleasant as ever.
  • Guest Fighter: Girlfriend discusses this trope with Sonic.EXE, who himself is an example of this.
Girlfriend: Is everyone else just going to be a copyrighted character or a creepypasta?
    Sonic.EXE: Uh... yeah, pretty much.
  • Gratuitous Spanish: Skid and Pump yell "correr"note  after stealing Boyfriend's lollipop.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: Boyfriend is much larger than Girlfriend in this one.
  • Hulk Speak: Boyfriend speaks in this matter. He subverts this in Episode 4 when he talks down Mommy Mearest and her advances.
  • Lost Food Grievance: Boyfriend does not take Skid and Pump stealing his lollipop well AT ALL. Enough that he made a "Missing!" poster for it in Episode 4. Said poster gets replaced in Episode 5 with a poster that says it's been found "dead", meaning Skid and Pump have already eaten the lollipop.
  • The Lost Lenore: Pico is this for Boyfriend. He may have gotten a new Girlfriend, but the loss of his old boyfriend has yet to go away.
  • Never Say "Die": The reuploaded YouTube version of Episode 7 has Tankman's declaration that he's gonna kill Boyfriend and Girlfriend censored by replacing "killing" with "kindly escorting".
  • Not-So-Harmless Villain: Tankman actually proves to be a major threat and comes very close to killing Boyfriend and Girlfriend. The two are only saved due to intervention from a revived Pico.
  • Oh, Crap!: Boyfriend and Girlfriend when they realize that they are about be killed by Tankman.
  • The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: Boyfriend is only shown singing once, and it's only one note to boot.
    • To his credit, Boyfriend does try to rap against Whitty and Rebecca/Starving Artist in the April Fools 2022 Mods episode, but Whitty is....less than receptive, and Rebecca drops dead of starvation before Boyfriend gets a chance.
  • Posthumous Character: Pico is deceased in this series, and Boyfriend still hasn't gotten over his death, having continual dreams about Pico's spirit telling him to let him go.
  • Race Lift: Pico appears to be Hispanic in this series, as he speaks with a Spanish accent, addresses Boyfriend as "Senór" and says "si" rather than "yes".
  • Robbing the Dead: Girlfriend steals Tankman’s Tank after he gets mauled to death by Pico.
  • Scaled Up: For the brief moment he's resurrected by Jesus and appearing to save Boyfriend and Girlfriend from Tankman, Pico is turned into an alligator. Since it's a brief moment, and Pico shows up rather quickly in alligator form, it almost borders on Freeze-Frame Bonus.
  • Squick: In-Universe example with Mommy Mearest hitting on Boyfriend in front of her daughter. Made worse by the fact that she's married.
  • Squashed Flat: Daddy Dearest, courtesy of Boyfriend in Episode 1. By the time he's out of the hospital in Episode 5, he's still squashed.
  • Super-Strength: Boyfriend stands on his index fingers (and only needs ONE to support his body), hold Girlfriend in just one hand, crush Daddy Dearest in the palm of his hand, and squeeze a lemon with just his index finger and his thumb.
  • Take That!:
    • Girlfriend is embarrassed to tears by her mother bringing up how she used to be obsessed with Undertale.
    • Tankman says that Subway is dog shit.
    • Episode 8 takes a few jabs at Sonic.exe. The description even mentions that he's there "for some god-forsaken reason."
Girlfriend: Do you die at the end of this mod?
    Sonic.EXE: No.
    Girlfriend: Great.

    Boyfriend: I wanna go home.
Sonic.EXE: They always say that to me! Why lord in heaven, why?
  • Top-Heavy Guy: Boyfriend and Pico. In Boyfriend's case, he stands on his index fingers, and his feet seem too short to touch the ground. Inverted with Senpai, with very massive and muscular legs but he has such a small torso with short arms, he actually has a heart attack and dies attempting to touch his toes.
  • Understanding Boyfriend: Rather, understanding Girlfriend. Girlfriend sees that Boyfriend is still grieving over losing Pico, and does her best to comfort him.
  • "Wanted!" Poster: Episode 4 shows that these were made for Skid and Pump, presumably by Boyfriend because they stole his lollipop.
  • Would Not Shoot a Civilian: Averted with Tankman.
Tankman: I don't care if it's filed as a war crime, I'm killing some civilians.
