It's a math, math, math, math world!
♫ Sine, Cosine, Cotangent, Secant, Tangent, Cosecant, E to the X, Logarithm, Cal-cu-lator and they all live in a house together. Calc-u-House, Yeah! ♫
— Theme Song

Calc-u-House is an animated Object Show short created by Olivia Ciabattarinote  and released on 26th May 2023. The short is supposed to teach us the wonders of mathematics as it was solely made for Olivia's final AP calculus project.

In Math City, the Cal-u-House residents are getting ready for a concert of the greatest band of all time, Y and the Limits (or is it "F(x) and the Limits"?), when the town is struck by sudden earthquakes and it has something to do with the Disc Method.

Viewed the short here.

Contains the following tropes:

  • Anthropomorphic Typography: All the characters sans Calculator is a calculus function or symbol.
  • Brick Joke: Cosine excitedly tells the gang how he went on the wildest ride on the Unit Circle from Trig Land. The ride would later catch up to him mid-song, leading to Logarithm comforting a queasy Cosine off the corner trying not to puke.
  • Cute Mute: Everyone loves Logarithm just like Raymond, being greeted with a round of applause from the audience, while not saying a word onscreen (Although they do whisper that's not audible to the audience).
  • GIS Syndrome: Calculator's asset is ripped straight from Google images as well as the Disc Method formula, making it stand out from the 2D-animated short.
  • Laugh Track: As expected for a Sitcom which is use to indicate the math jokes that would fly over most people's heads.
  • Mood Whiplash: After the calculus functions finish cheerfully singing about Disc Method, it immediately cuts to them standing motionlessly and blankly staring like the song never happened which makes the spontaneous musical number all the more jarring and funnier.
  • Non-Mammalian Hair: E to the X, a math symbol, has pink hair tied up in a ponytail though it could be a wig given everyone else lacks any.
  • Odd Name Out: Calculator, while in theme with the short and naming scheme, is not named after a math function/symbol like everyone else since he's a calculator.
  • Pun-Based Title: The title "Cal-U-House" refers to the characters living in a big house together Sitcom-style but it's also phonetically pronounced as "Calculus" which is what this Object Show is teaching us all about.
  • It's Pronounced "Tro-PAY": E to the X insists to Cosine and Calculator that the band "Y and the Limits" is actually pronounced "f(x) and the Limits" because of proper math terminology. The two were not pleased at being corrected since they should know better.
  • Shout-Out: The songs are in the style of Ask the StoryBots which is a lighthearted Edutainment Show like Cal-U-House only less math-centric.
  • Sitcom: Cal-U-House is stylized as a group of friends and math functions living in the titular house who sing, solve problems and crack math jokes that only the Laugh Track can get.
  • Sphere Eyes: Type 2 for Cosine, Cotangent and Secant.
