Contains the following tropes:
- A Dog Named "Dog": Everyone is named directly after the balls or ball-like objects (or chewing gum) their species is. Examples include a stick of gum named "Gum", an iron ball named "Ball of Iron", a ball with one eye named "Eye-Ball" and so on.
- Alliterative Title: There are two "B"s in Ball Battle.
- An Arm and a Leg: Gum had to sacrifice his legs to the All-Ball to revive himself from purgatory. He gets them back once the All-Ball is defeated but is gone again during the second season.
- Animate Inanimate Object: The sentient objects in question are ball or ball-based except for Gum (A stick of gum).
- Armless Biped: All the contestants of both seasons only have stick legs with no hands.
- Cyclops: It's no surprise the contestant named Eye-Ball has only one eye.
- Floating Limbs: Gum's hands are disconnected from his body and also his legs previously until he had to give them up to the All-Ball.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Bubble Spider selflessly gives up their corporeal form to the All-Ball in order for Eye-Ball and Zombie Ball to revive from purgatory without any trade-offs.
- No Mouth: Eye-Ball had to give up his to get out of purgatory. He later gets it back once the All-Ball is defeated.
- Sacrificial Revival Spell: If the one dies and finds themselves in the afterlife, they must barter with the All Ball by trading something they value for their revival. It's an unusual and unheard-of way of recovery in these types of shows. However, once the All Ball was defeated, everything that was sacrificed returned to their respective owners.
