For the GDI scouting party of Pathfinder, a light scout humvee and Packer, an APC, nothing ever happens while they're on patrol. That is until they stumble onto a Brotherhood of Nod Tiberium harvester, getting them involved in a situation that may change the course of the war between GDI and Nod.

Absolute Units is a animated web-series created by writer/animator Benjamin Tay. Best described as Red vs. Blue except set in a version of the Command & Conquer Tiberian universe where both sides consist of robots and sapient military vehicles and focuses on the misadventures of the aforementioned scouting party during the early days of the First Tiberium War.

As of October 2022, eight episodes have been released and more are coming, in addition to a lot more various sorts and bonus videos. You can view them alongside side content on Benjamin Tay's YouTube channel Direct and Dominate.

Absolute Units provides examples of:

  • Batman Gambit: In Episode 8, Hanseldorf sends a pair of Nod scout bikes to harass a GDI supply train, counting on whatever ground units that come to its aid requesting air support to deal with the raiders, causing Sky Eye and the other two Orca gunships to peel off their escort of a supply chopper that's Hanseldorf's real target, allowing him to shoot down its remaining aerial escort and capture its contents.
  • Big Bad: The unseen Nod Commander, with Hanseldorf acting as The Heavy.
  • Blatant Lies: Pathfinder's fake defection.
Packer: "I hope you know what you're doing.
Pathfidner: "Relax. We're not really defecting."
    Noddy boi: "What was that?"
    Pathfidner: "We are soooo defecting."
  • Cliffhanger: Episode 6 ends on one as Paycheck is seemingly killed by Nod as a traitor after being tricked into helping Pathfinder and Packer infiltrate the data archive while the two have no choice but to leave him behind and escape. Then Benjamin Tay decides to skip making Episode 7 until he gets good enough at animating to make it the way he wants, resulting in him releasing Episode 8 afterwards, which begins with a completely alive Paycheck being welcomed as a new recruit to GDI.
  • Fake Defector: How Pathfidner and Packer manage to infiltrate the Nod refinery outpost and trick Paycheck, the Nod Tiberium harvester, into coming with them to the GDI base. Later they use the same trick to infiltrate a Nod data archive and almost make it out with files on Tiberium refinement before they accidentally blow their cover and have to hightail it out of there.
  • Unfortunate Name: Pathfinder is quick to point out what the name of Highlander, Highroller and Highground's strike team, Special Hit And Run Tactics, ultimately abbreviates to.
    Pathfinder: "S.H.A.R.T.? Like... like a S.H.A.R.T. team?"
    • This leads to them immediately renaming their team to Strategic Hit And Run Division.
Highlander: (regarding their logos) "Do you know how expensive it is to reprint these?"
