WMG / Xiaolin Chronicles

Go To

When Omi went back in time to stop Chase Young from turning evil, he still somehow managed to alter history
While in theory him stopping himself from going forward in time made everything normal again, his merging with his former self lead to a dimensional merge rather than a dimensional obliteration. Because of this merger, several detail about history were changed, and only Dojo, who was along for the whole journey, noticed. Hence the Series Continuity Error regarding trapping Wuya in a spring rather than a puzzle box.
  • Not a bad theory. It doesn't explain why Dojo suddenly inverted his colour palette, though. Maybe this is a parallel dimension, which is remarkably similar to the one in Xiaolin Showdown.
  • Possibly confirmed in "Tokyo Madness" with Kimiko's father acting as if he had just met the Xiaolin Warriors despite figuring prominently in an Showdown episode, a less casual and more professional look, and apparently having a slight falling out with Kimiko despite him being a doting, spoiling father in the first installment. YMMV since it's been shown that Kimiko's father can be a touch absent-minded when it comes to the world outside of his work and could've forgotten about her friends.

Well, considering the characters that are evil almost always make a habit of betraying each other...
  • And given Chase's smartness, he will either see it coming or only consider it a mild inconvenience.
  • She does ultimately defect from Chase in Chase lays an Egg due to the care Chase was showing towards it. Her attempt to destroy it and her fight with Chase is what divides them.

Ping-pong and Omi are somewhat related.
Self-explanatory.

The massive changes to the show were caused by a reality-warping Shen Gong Wu that appeared and was used during the timeskip, but the change was so successful that no one noticed, or at least is pretending not to notice
  • ...it's the only way my brain can accept any of this.

The Xiaolin will at some point engineer for Jack to upstage Shadow
Like how they used Jack during the Heylin Eclipse, they'll decide that they need to separate Chase from his new hyper-competent sidekick and having her lose to Jack of all people, preferably multiple times, might do that. Whether or not it gets the desired effect is up for grabs.
  • Alternatively, team up with Jack to subtly convince Chase that Shadow will betray him since everyone he's ever worked with before has. Xiaolin win since it breaks up an evil team, Jack wins because it leaves the apprenticeship of his evil-hero open, and fans win because Jack is working with the Xiaolin for an arc.

The show so far has been nothing but a chronicle.
As in, nothing but a story of the monks escapades. That could explain why everything is so different from Showdown. Their adventures have been super condensed and most of the names and details have been smudged with time. Xiaolin Showdown has suffered from a world wide round of the telephone game.

Hannibal Roy Bean trapped everyone in an alternate world without their memories during the last battle of the original show.
It might explain why Chase's mannerisms are so different than from the original show and some characters got Flanderized (ie. Dojo).

If/when Jermaine makes an appearance in this series, the episode will be dedicated to the memory of his original voice actor, Lee Thompson Young.

Hannibal Roy Bean will appear in the season finale.
There is some sort of phantom thing in Chase's flashbacks during the finale that looks a bit like Hannibal's Showdown armor, but whether or not it's Hannibal's Chronicles version or a new character taking his role is unclear for now.

Raimundo will betray the Dragons.
Since the elements are now firmly rooted in Wu Xing, all of the elements are represented, except for Wind, which isn't a part of it, and the unaccounted for Metal. This may mean that Raimundo will betray the Dragons and be replaced with someone to take the Metal Element, like Jack Spicer.

Chronicles is just an alternate universe
We were shown at the end of Showdown that there are many alternate universes, (when the universes ran into each other and created a pile up) so this is just one of them.
