The final story arc has Alicia become the "Hidden Final Boss"
- Near the end of the light novels, Alicia Enlight has apparently disappeared from prison, and her whereabouts are unknown. A little later Yumiella finds out that for some unspecified time, an intruder has been inside of the Dolkness-property dungeon, without anyone figuring out what is going on inside. Feeling abandoned by her former friends, and jealous of Yumiella's power, Alicia set out half-mad to level herself up. Deep inside, Yumiella encounters something; a being seemingly made of pure light, but with eyes & a mouth so black, it eclipses her own dark magic...
- "Well hello, Miss Yumiella; how do I look to you NOW?!"
How the manga/anime continuity handles Alicia's backstabbing of Yumiella.
- From episode 10 of the anime, Alicia recalls there are actions that she wouldn't feel comfortable doing of her free will, but she did that as if she was being controlled. Yumiella thinks LMH's plot is compelling Alicia to do these things to maintain the continuity. Since Yumiella ends up being killed by Alicia & co. in LMH, the Plot will mind-control them into attacking Yumiella.
- Happens exactly like this in episode 12. Unlike the LN though, Alicia is both acting alone in trying to kill Yumiella, and is fighting back against it. With Prince Edwin's help, they get Alicia back to her senses before she does anything irredeemable.
Yumiella is actually Level 396.
- Yumiella mentions that you need all four characters at Level 99 to even stand a chance against game!Yumiella. This would not really make sense unless the game gave bosses functionally higher levels, like Tera Raid Bosses in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Typically, JRPGs set the stats of enemies by a different system from the player characters. But a system like the Tera Raids making her functionally a higher level would do this. It also explains why she’s even more powerful than the Demon Lord; she’s permanently at “Raid level.”
Villainess 99 Anime is just one more variant of the Villainess 99 multiverse
- With the novels revealing alternate versions of Yumiella, and one pushed by a dark god to commit total genocide, then it stands to reason it's tried other tactics to corrupt and destroy the world. With Yumiella-Anime, the god took note of the training methods, but also tried to force the kind Yumiella to be evil by controlling Alicia with the railroading to certain events. This failed because Yumiella had become friendly with Alicia and the Harem, so they were shocked by this action and saved Yumiella, and in turn Yumiella was able to make them save Alicia. The love for each other is why the anime has the happiest of endings. In the novel, it takes a more subtle approach in Alicia's corruption so she and the harem never becomes friends with Yumiella as that really helped push Alicia be able to resist the urges to kill Yumiella. In the original web version was the worst variant as she ends up dead during the betrayal. With the knowledge from how to manipulate and corrupt the Yumiella variants, it went onto create Yumiella-2.
