The aliens have less capacity for emotions than humans.
Humans, or at least the Mews, are able to feel Mew Aqua. However, the aliens have to rely on other Mew Aqua samples, and find strong emotions incomprehensible sometimes.- That, or them being, you know, aliens, simply don't feel the exact same way humans do and, as such, cannot sense Mew Aqua.

Deep Blue's nature and the fact that he functions as the aliens' mastermind leads one to believe his name is likely a reference to the chess computer of the same name
. He's the aliens' most important asset; their King, if you will. If we're assuming Chess Motifs, Mew Ichigo's primary attack, Ribbon Strawberry Check, makes a lot of sense. Essentially, due to Ichigo's proximity to Masaya throughout the series, she has Deep Blue a metaphorical state of Check. In the final episode of the anime, when Ichigo defeats Deep Blue with Masaya's help, what attack does she use? Ribbon Strawberry Surprise, an upgraded version of Ribbon Strawberry Check. In essence, she and Masaya spring a Surprise Checkmate on Deep Blue. The Aizawa family were benefactors of Project Mew Mew in the 2022 reboot continuity.
"Tokyo Mew Mew New" has Minto be the first Mew Mew who's implied to be working with Ryou and Akasaka for a while and even helped them find, gather, and infuse the other girls with animal DNA.There's a good chance that Minto's family were helping fund the project prior to the Shiroganes' deaths albeit away from the public eye. Maybe the two's parents introduced a young Ryou and Minto to each other and they became Childhood Friends.
If Minto was friends with Ryou and knew about Project Mew Mew prior to his parents' deaths, she probably took it upon herself to continue the project after her parents decided to call it quits.On a related note, this could also explain why Ryou is okay with Minto slacking off at work; she's already done so much for him.
