WMG / The Late Late Show

Go To

Evil Santa is James Corden.
Evil Santa told Craig Ferguson that he was going to take his job. Maybe this is James Corden in disguise.

James Corden will reignite The Late Night Wars.
He will undo the progress that Ferguson and Fallon made.

James Corden was chosen as Craig Ferguson's replacement because he played a character named Craig on Doctor Who.
Craig Ferguson is a fan of the show.

Each talk show host is the same Time Lord.
Tom Snyder regenerated into Craig Kilborn, Kilborn regenerated into Ferguson, and Ferguson will regenerate into James Corden. It would also explain how Ferguson knew about Jennifer Anniston's separation from Brad Pitt two days in advance.

The Boneless are in the studio.
In Doctor Who episode "Flatline," they are the reason that The Doctor's TARDIS's outward appearance shrinks. Maybe this is the case for the TARDIS on Ferguson's desk.

After leaving the show, Ferguson will be on Doctor Who.
Either as a villain or as the Twelfth Doctor's companion since he and Capaldi are good friends in real life.
  • And since James Corden played a character named Craig on Doctor Who, Ferguson will show up as a character named James.

Craig Ferguson will say, "I don't wanna go."
And then he'll laugh immediately because that melodramatic line from Doctor Who is pathetic.
  • Sadly, Jossed.

Ferguson's last words on the show will be...
"Tomorrow's just your future yesterday."
  • Jossed. Depending on how you look at it, it's either "Bob Newhart?! What the hell are you doing here?!" or "Good night, Geoffrey Peterson... That's just the clams talking."

Craig, Geoff, and Secretariat will return for The Late Late Show 50th anniversary special in 2045.
This was suggested when he interviewed Eric Idle about the Monty Python reunion.

The protruding metal fin on Geoff's head is a result of him skydiving into water full of sharks.
It was revealed on the seventh anniversary of Ferguson's first show that Geoff died when he tried skydiving onto an island surrounded by shark-infested waters. Maybe he crashed onto a shark and its fin became part of his skull. Geoff even said on the December 16, 2014 show that it was a shark fin.

Peter Capaldi will appear in the final episode of Ferguson's run.
Here's a theory someone called supergreg0815 posted on IMDB: "Right at the very end, when Craig is finally leaving to walk the earth, Peter Capaldi will enter the stage, saying, "Why walk the earth, when you can travel the stars?" and whisk him away with the TARDIS! Then they will be solving galactic crimes together and tripping on acid like two madmen with a box!"
  • Jossed. The sole guest in that episode was Jay Leno, another mad old friend.

Sid the cussing rabbit will return in the final episode.
Either physically or via phone call.
  • Confirmed. He's in the opening music video.

Secretariat narrated the Paris and Scotland shows.
It was established that Secretariat thinks in the voice of Morgan Freeman and that Geoff can extract his thoughts telepathically.

The real reason that Ferguson left the show...
...is that he was tired of getting phone calls from Evil Santa and did not feel like changing the phone number.

Talk shows on which Craig Ferguson has appeared are All Just a Dream.
It was revealed in his final episode that Craig Ferguson was just dreaming that he was a talk show host. Maybe he also dreamed his appearances on and crossovers with other shows. This would include CBS Evening News (on which Secretariat appeared), Conan (on which Ferguson was interviewed), Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (which has had crossovers referencing The Late Night Wars), The Late Show with David Letterman (on which both Ferguson and Secretariat have appeared), Live with Regis and Kelly (on which Secretariat has appeared), The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (on which Ferguson has appeared), and The View (on which Secretariat has appeared). Ferguson's cameos in The Ugly Truth and Kick-Ass mean that those films are also included. The entire Late Late Show itself, even with different hosts, may be part of the dream.
