Rincewind lost his memories as a result of the Octavo's spell jumping inside his head.
- He doesn't seem to talk a lot about his childhood. In this book, we learn that he had a stuffed sheep as a child (because that was the only time he hadn't seen a sheep cooked.) Rincewind didn't remember having any relatives before meeting his cousin. He also doesn't remember his first name. His last name is Rincewind.
