WMG / The Boys: Real Justice

Go To

In the upcoming crossover between The Boys and the Marvel Universe, The Boys (especially Butcher) will be more antagonistic towards some of the Marvel superheroes.
  • The Boys (especially Butcher) will likely show a greater dislike towards the Marvel heroes than they do the DC heroes. In particular:
    • Butcher and Mother's Milk will dislike Captain America greatly, the former because he sees him as a Phony Veteran (reflecting Garth Ennis' dislike of Captain America because he sees him as a sanitized, cheapened version of real history), the latter because he's Soldier Boy's counterpart.
    • Butcher will be among those with a hatred of Mutants, helping hate criminals and bigots go after them due to his bias against superheroes. Butcher might actually be glad that there are civilians like him who hate super-powered people and able to act against them.
    • The Boys will be against Spider-Man, with Butcher agreeing with J. Jonah Jameson's views about Spidey, though the former will dislike The Boys for their vigilantism.
    • MM will also be suspicious of Falcon, Storm and Power Man, calling them "sell-outs" to pal around with Captain America at different parts of their careers.
    • Frenchie will be initially hostile towards Human Torch because of him having pyrokinetic powers like Lamplighter but on a much more powerful scale. However unlike Butcher and MM, Frenchie will decide to at least try giving him a chance and see that he's really not that bad. He'll still be jealous when Johnny inevitably hits on Kimiko though.
    • Hughie, while likely more willing to give the benefit of the doubt, will be shown to be very nervous around Quicksilver and Invisible Woman due to their respective powers bringing back traumatic memories of A-Train running through Robin and him being attacked and nearly killed by Translucent before being saved by Butcher.
    • Finally, Annie will be beside herself upon seeing that the Marvel universe has supes like Captain America, Black Panther, Wasp, Luke Cage, Daredevil and Spider-Man that genuinely care about helping others without concern for fame or money. While she may not exactly be all too fond of certain heroes like Doctor Strange, Gambit, or Iron Man due to Tony's infamous alcoholism, Stephen's intellectual ego and Remy's womanizing persona, at least they're way better than Homelander. Aside from Hughie, Annie will also be one of the only two members of the Boys willing to give the benefit of the doubt.
  • Logan and Butcher will have a strong mutual dislike of each other for different reasons and develop an intense rivalry; Butcher will dislike Logan because of him being a Supe (or mutant but he doesn't care since they're the same thing in his eyes) while Logan dislikes Butcher because of him being a bigoted prick. It's due to these reasons that they'll spend most of their interactions insulting each other and just butting heads in general.
  • MM will likely become fond of Kamala despite her being a supe due to her upbeat personality reminding him of his daughter.
  • The Boys (mostly Butcher and MM) will absolutely despise Deadpool, not just because he has an uncanny resemblance to Black Noir, but also because he never shuts up. On top of that, they'll be very much confused as to how this weirdo knockoff somehow knows so much about them (via shipping Frenchie and Kimiko so hard and fanboying over being in a crossover fanfic with Karl freaking Urban!).
  • Iron Man will also be one of the Marvel heroes that Butcher dislikes greatly and even refers to him as a "rich cunt in a glorified tin can."
  • Hughie and Annie will eventually call out MM on his unfair treatment of Captain America just because he happens to resemble Soldier Boy and disregarding his actual character.

Guesses for plot points for the upcoming Marvel/Boys crossover
  • Without the same kind of restraint Bruce Wayne has, Tony Stark will straight up engage in corporate negotiation with Vought as a way to probe them for intel after T'Challa and Reed Richards pass along information about their past.
  • Spider-Man will become The Gadfly for ALL the Supes of Vought, repeatedly giving the spiel "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility", driving the various Supes to distraction that this guy won't let up on their duties to the public.
  • Heroes for Hire will give a big middle finger to Vought with "This is why we never corporatized!"
  • The Fantastic Four will be a first point of contact and be frank about the need to find another solution to stop an incursion.
  • Reed will study a sample of Compound V to figure out how it works and if possible, reverse engineer an antidote to depower the Supes. Especially Homelander upon seeing how much of a threat he represents.
  • Daredevil will be there to give Homelander a great big show about what it means to be blind and still a hero.
  • Hulk will be the Avengers' ace in the hole in a fight against Homelander in the end. Now which Hulk is going to be the big question.
  • Quicksilver will be far more confrontational with A-Train, especially seeing the issues he has with carelessness with his powers.
  • HYDRA will have a nice chuckle about another ex-Nazi organization somehow gaining legitimacy but lacking the spine to openly declare plans for a Second Reich.
  • Dr. Doom will also establish diplomatic relations, but more to see if there's anything worthy for Doom to pilfer, and if Richards will have the spine to do what needs to be done.
  • Ryan will befriend the Power Pack siblings, Franklin and Valeria with Kamala and Miles potentially acting as the older siblings he never had. It's through his new friendships along with him witnessing Kamala and Miles's close relationships with their respective families in spite of them being the only ones among them with powers that Ryan will steadily begin to question Homelander's teachings that only increase when his father tries to isolate him from his newly found friends.
  • Thor is going to drive EVERYONE crazy that they have a real mythological god walking around, and nobody considers it a big deal anymore.
  • Namor is going to be perfectly blunt to The Deep and call him an embarrassing disgrace to all sea heroes.
  • People from The Boys universe will use the time Hank Pym hit Janet Van Dyne to claim that the Marvel heroes have no right to judge Vought's Supes, ignoring that Hank was suffering from serious mental problems when that happened and did not intend to strike Janet as well as the fact that Hank at least acknowledged he needed help and actually committed to self-improvement.
  • Similar to Real Justice, the Marvel villains will become very interested in Compound V and try getting their hands on the formula for their own nefarious purposes. For example; Kingpin will try selling it on the black market for a quick buck while Red Skull will dispatch agents disguised as Vought executives to steal samples of the formula for him to create an improved batch for the creation of an army of superhuman soldiers like Stormfront had planned. But unlike her, HYDRA's superior resources could allow Schmidt to potentially reach that goal if given time.
  • Building off of the Compound V subplot, The Boys will try going after the villains themselves out of a belief that since the supes of this world can go toe to toe with these psychos, then surely they can too. However, Butcher and the gang will find out the hard way that the villains are legitimately dangerous foes who are way, way beyond their level. Even with Kimiko and Starlight on their side.
    • During their so-called "campaign" against the Marvel villains, Mysterio will be one of the Boys' first targets. While they initially underestimate him due to his goofy appearance, each of them will fall for his many illusions showing them their biggest regrets.
    • Butcher's illusion will consist of seeing himself cruely rejecting Ryan while he can do nothing but helplessly watch. Despite trying to fight it, Butcher will be shown to still care for the kid as he experiences the guilt from that day all over again. Maybe he even sees Ryan becoming another Homelander as a result of his actions.
    • Hughie's illusion will have him return to the same street where A-Train ran into his old girlfriend...Only to have Robin herself appear before him sadly asking him why he replaced her with another woman and slowly becoming angry that he failed to protect her.
    • MM's illusion returns him to the traumatic memory of his grandfather dying at the hands of Soldier Boy throwing a car through his house. While he himself remains unharmed; MM has to personally witness his grandfather dying all over again as he berates his grandson by saying that his blood is on his hands.
    • Frenchie's illusion has him being confronted by the bodies of his victims from his past as a hitman calling him a murderer and saying that as much as he tries, he can never outrun his past.
    • Annie's illusion will show her insecurities over trying to be a real hero in a corrupt world and guilt over her mistakes. Eventually the illusion reaches its peak with Mysterio showing her the grave of none other than her deceased friend, Supersonic. In a reference to "Far from Home", Alex's mangled corpse will suddenly burst from the grave in front of a frightened Annie.
    • Finally, Kimiko's illusion will have her being forced to fight a realistic apparition of Stormfront in a brutal battle. During the fight, Stormfront will proceed to sadistically mock her over Kenji's death and telling her how she couldn't save her brother then and she certainly can't save her friends now.
  • At some point, a frustrated Butcher will try going after Sabretooth on his own and proceed to get his ass kicked by the psychopathic mutant only to be saved at the last moment by the Boys while Wolverine fends him off.
  • Magneto, being a Holocaust survivor, will be very displeased upon finding out about Vought's Nazi roots in general and may team up with the Boys or even try bringing Vought down himself. Furthermore unlike the other villains, he'll be repulsed by Compound V's mere existence and consider both it and Supes in general to be little more than an insult to mutantkind.
  • Like Batman and the Bat-Family, SHIELD will do background research on the Boys. Upon realizing that they're a legitimate danger to others and themselves by recklessly going after hardened supervillains, Nick Fury will dispatch agent Natasha Romanoff to hunt down and apprehend Butcher and the others. (Nat will also be very well prepared with mutant inhibitor collars to negate Kimiko and Annie's powers depending if they work on supes as well.)
  • Near the story's end, a member of the X-Men (most likely Wolverine or Rogue) will eventually become so fed up with Butcher's prejudice towards super-powered people that they give him a "The Reason You Suck" Speech calling him out for his blatant labeling of all Supes/Mutants as "evil" regardless of being proven otherwise time and again by Annie and Kimiko as well as chewing him out for his appalling attitude towards Ryan, a literal child, just because of his powers and blaming said child for his wife's death in spite of it clearly being an accident.
  • Annie will eventually meet Peter Parker (who is happily married to a pregnant MJ while continuing his career as Spider-Man). With him being the one to potentially restore her hope in true heroism after she witnesses how in spite of all his powers, Peter still remains a good man at heart. It's possible his kindness may even cause her to open up about her sorrow and guilt over Alex's death at the hands of Homelander. In response to this, Peter will comfort her as he knows what it's like to lose a first love/close friend.
    • Alternatively, since counterpart comparisons are a staple of this kind of stuff, Annie will meet Captain Marvel and be shown the tough as nails leader that she needs to grow into.
  • Mother's Milk and Captain America will be forced to work together at some point in the story. It's here that MM will see first hand that Steve Rogers is nowhere near the corrupt, egotistical asshole that Soldier Boy is and realize that he was wrong about him.
  • Due to his repulsive history towards women, The Deep is going to be very severely despised by pretty much every female Marvel hero and even villain alike.
  • Dr. Strange is going to be a person of interest for Vought since magic is an untapped resource for superheroes at this time.
  • If the Flight 37 video ends up getting leaked, the prominent hero teams like the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, and the Avengers (especially true for the Thing, Spider-Man, Captain America, Scarlet Witch and Wolverine) will all be enraged by Homelander not only callously leaving behind innocent people to die simply to maintain his reputation but also by him threatening to murder them with his heat vision and view him as a monstrous coward because of it. Two of the victims being a little girl and her mom will cause Sue's motherly instincts to flare up and make her hold nothing back against him when the time comes.
  • Ultron will curb-stomp the Supes of The Boys universe with specialized drones based on them, leading the Marvel characters to snark at how Ultron's knockoffs managed to be superior to the originals.
  • If Soldier Boy appears in the crossover, he and Captain America will not get along due to his overly macho, bully like personality rubbing Steve the wrong way. It'll only get worse when he eventually finds out about his counterpart's various other crimes such as mentally and physically abusing his own team to the point that he gave one of his teammates brain damage and murdering MM's grandfather during his childhood.
  • Charles Xavier will be very suspicious of Godolkin University as a whole and may send Scott Summers as an undercover teacher to investigate the school's inner workings.
  • Loki, being the God of mischief that he is, will find Homelander and the Seven to be absolutely adorable and go out of his way to screw around with them via using his magic to make them look like fools.
  • Butcher will be forced to confront how twisted his Irrational Hatred of supes is once he meets groups like the Friends of Humanity, the Sapien League, the Purifiers, the Reavers and even prominent non powered villains who hate mutants like he does supes such as William Stryker. He'll initially be ecstatic at the fact that the Marvel universe has groups made up of ordinary people who're willing and able to take the fight directly against superpowered beings, until he sees that they're willing to go to lengths he refuses to cross, like torture innocents or mutilate the bodies of children who barely count as superpowered. Ryan being one of the aforementioned groups' targets will cause Butcher's conscience to kick in as he remembers the promise he made to Becca.
    • Alternatively, Butcher will be willing to work with Stryker whereas the rest of the Boys won't, leading to a rift between Butcher and his friends.
    • Stryker will also act as a reflection of what Butcher may end up becoming if he let's his hatred completely consume him.
  • Luke Cage will confront A-Train about how he turned his corporate pursuits into an excuse to not properly represent their shared experiences. That after his torture and imprisonment, he knows the depths of the depravity systematic racism can do to the african american communities, and that A-Train choosing to sacrifice that to get back his prestige is a true betrayal of his roots.
    • On top of that, Luke will ask if A-Train sacrificing the people he supposedly loved such as his brother Nathan and his deceased girlfriend Popclaw (whom he ended up murdering himself by the way) was worth getting his position in the Seven back.
  • The Boys will end up being called ineffective Punisher knockoffs by people who've actually met the Punisher.
    • The Boys will try to reach out to Frank Castle after hearing about him, only for them to decide that he's too crazy after seeing him at work.
  • Inspired by the wisdom of Peter Parker and/or Carol Danvers, Annie will receive a moment of awesome by facing a member of Mr Sinister's Marauders (Either Arclight or Riptide) to protect Hughie and the others; Showing just how much potential she could have had as a true superhero if not for Vought's manipulation.
