WMG / The Babysitter: Killer Queen

Go To

The Devil himself will be the villain in the third film
Cole will have to team up with the Cultists in the third movie.
Perhaps related to the above WMG, where they have to pull an Enemy Mine to defeat The Devil (or some other foe).
If there's a Babysitter 3, Phoebe will be next to betray Cole.
It seems to be a pattern, judging from the events of the first two films:
  • 1st film: Cole stats off nursing a crush on Bee, only to find out she's the leader of a Satanic cult and tries to kill him. It causes Cole to have to protect himself and Melanie, which brings them closer by the end.
  • 2nd film: Cole stats off nursing a crush on Melanie (who has a new boyfriend now), but eventually realizes she's joined the cultists as their new leader. He ends up having to protect himself again, along with Phoebe, his new friend/love interest.
So, if the cycle continues, part 3 will reveal that Phoebe's evil too and just as likely to be the cult's third leader.
  • Or even worse possibility: the Devil cheated Bee in their bargain like the Devil is known to do. He brought Phoebe back when agreeing to a deal with Bee. However, Bee and Phoebe didn't know, Phoebe came back wrong and she's a ticking timebomb until the reveal comes clear.
    • This could also be impetus for Bee to return to the dark side: Old Scratch promised to bring Phoebe back right if she and her cult-mates kill Cole.
Alternatively, Cole will betray Phoebe, who will take over as the new protagonist
It's a wild theory, with him being the series protagonist and all, but McG seems to be an up-and-coming Shyamalan. Also, if McG keeps introducing, heel-turning and killing off female characters, Unfortunate Implications may arise.

Just because Cole's pretending to be pretending that the events never happened doesn't mean he's not going to be bullied anymore or that he's not having any more nightmares (if anything, the bullying and nightmares will intensify). What's keeping him grounded are his new girlfriend Phoebe and his dad finally believing him. But if Phoebe breaks up with Cole, seeing that their relationship was borne through a traumatic chase and Phoebe may have to return to juvie hall, and his dad (and maybe mom) either dies between the films or is unable to keep him stable, Cole might just crack.

Basically, after a Trauma Conga Line, Cole snaps, returns to the desert, retrieves the book and summons his old enemies. He decides to go through with the sacrifice, which may or may not involve Phoebe initially, but she ends up dragged in.

Samuel and Boom-Boom will return in Babysitter 3
Either as allies to Cole and Phoebe or more cultists trying to kill them.
Jimmy and Diego will return in Babysitter 3
Melanie will pull a Heel–Face Turn in the third film
If they're following the pattern above.
Melanie still likes or lusts over Cole
In the third film, she will be a Yandere to Cole, targeting Phoebe for "stealing" him away and possibly attempting to force herself on him. Alternatively, if she genuinely loves Cole, it might be impetus for the above proposed Heel–Face Turn.
The third film will be set during prom night
The title, of course, will be "The Babysitter: Prom Queen". The new cultists could include Principal Highbridge, Dr "Big" Carl McManus, Mr. Nordy and Cole's classmates.
The third film will focus on Cole bonding with his mother
Like how this one focused on him and his father.
The lead cultist in the third film will be one of Melanie's Instagram followers

Cole and Melanie had a fight weeks before the movie
Possibly regarding her neglecting him in favour of her Instagram followers. While Cole got over it, Melanie never forgave him and made her Deal with the Devil in part to increase her following and to get revenge on him.

If there's a third film, Cole's mom will not believe Cole or his father.
It'd be a bit of a running gag that no one believes Cole. And since we see at the end that Cole's father calls his mom to tell her that Cole was indeed telling the truth about everything that happened. However, earlier in the film, she figured out that he had been smoking weed with Melanie's father. So, when he called her, he was technically still high. Though Cole has clearly gotten better after the events at the beach, Cole's mom will still not believe Cole or his father about what they saw. It won't be until she witnesses something in front of herself before she finally accepts the fact that Cole had been telling the truth from the start.
  • In his final scene with Big Carl, Cole seems to be pretending that he had been imagining things to get himself through high school.
    • That doesn't mean that Cole's mom will believe he's better, let alone believe Cole or his dad about the blood cult if they turn up again in a third film.

Cole will be suffering from Melanie's betrayal in the sequel
Seeing that they averted Angst? What Angst? with the first movie's events, it's unlikely that Cole will take the betrayal of his best and only friend and two-time lover well.

Babysitter 3's location will be an Alice Allusion
Seeing that she's into that piece of Victorian weirdness, Phoebe and Cole (or Phoebe alone) will visit an Alice in Wonderland museum, convention, theme park, book signing or whatever, only for the cultists to arrive. The plot could also be an Alice Allusion, with the cultists taking roles in the story to unnerve Phoebe, such as Melanie as the Red Queen.

Melanie was at least partly lying about her joining the cult to increase her Instagram followers
Just as Bee had lied to Cole in the first. While it is not necessarily a benevolent wish, Melanie had another reason for joining the cult other than just becoming an influencer. It's only referenced twice in the film and McG was never a stickler for continuity.

The cultists will target a child in the third film
Seeing that Cole and Phoebe are not virgins anymore, Allison, Max, Sonya, John and Melanie (and maybe Bee) will have to find someone else to sacrifice, preferably a child.

Intentionally or not, the cult will reappear while Cole and/or Phoebe are at an amusement park, (ironically) babysitting or in another environment with a child or children, and will have to split up responsibilities of killing Cole and Phoebe and capturing and sacrificing a child.

Satan cleaned up the bodies from the first film
Either through possession or his devil powers, he cleaned up all the bodies and the blood and all traces of existence of the cultists and their families and friends. Melanie was spared the Laser-Guided Amnesia or death because she worked with him.

Cole will die in the third film
If they want to put the trilogy to rest and resolve Cole's character arc, they might kill Cole off in the finale, possibly through a Heroic Sacrifice. Phoebe (or Cole's parents) might then be tempted into a Deal with the Devil to bring him back to life.

Cole and/or Phoebe will confront Bee on her machinations in Babysitter 3
Despite saving them, Bee caused Cole and Phoebe (especially the former) a lot of grief and put them in danger in both films. If Bee returns as an ally, they might bring it up to Bee if they argue.

The new cultists in the third film will want to bring a loved one back to life
In contrast to the materialistic wishes of the previous cultists, the new cultists will want to bring an old friend or family member back to life like Bee did to Phoebe.

Cole will become the titular Babysitter in the third film.
Cole, still being in high school, will become the titular Babysitter in the third film, babysitting a kid not too unlike how he was when the first film started. However, unlike Bee, he will actually not be malicious or involved with a cult. But the kid he ends up babysitting will become the target of the cult due to some reason (like being the key to opening hell on Earth or something like that), and the third film will involve him fending off the cultists to protect the kid.

A possible clarification of the deal between Bee and the Devil.
We know that Bee made her deal with the Devil to make sure Phoebe would live. However, with what we see in the first film, it seems that we do not have a clarification of why Bee was acting the way she did as well as why she needed to form a blood cult in the first place. A possible clarification, which could just count as a hand wave, behind why she needed to form a blood cult may have been a deal of her not just selling her soul, but gathering souls for Satan. This explains why she selected the members of the cult, because she knew they were corrupt. This also accounts for her behavior in the first film, because she was so focused on gathering souls that she lost herself (which explains her words "You changed me that night" when explaining the last moment they talked from the first film, as it reminded her). And it also explains how she was able to get Melanie, as she knew that she was slowly becoming corrupt even without selling her soul. So, Bee's goal in the deal is to find corrupt souls to give over to the Devil.

Melanie Sold Her Soul While Believing Cole Wouldn't Still Be the Target.

It would track with her thinking that Cole because he wrecked them all so badly in the first one that they wouldn't try to go after him again and find another virgin to target instead—only for Cole to be called crazy and not adapt or grow as a result of there being no proof of what happened (and Melanie being afraid of the same thing happening to her and keeping her distance because of it). Since she wasn't aware of Bee's plan to make sure that Cole not only connected with Phoebe emotionally—as well as physically too, Melanie also figured by throwing in with her that she could somehow influence the results too. It definitely would speak to Melanie's drive to use Cole for his blood being a less willing one to say the least. That it could ultimately be out of nothing more than extreme, desperate reluctance since it's ultimately the price that had to be paid for signing the book and there'd be no turning back now—and that maybe she and Max voted against trying to use Cole again and lost (or that Satan refused to change targets or that Bee refused to change targets as part of her scheme and they all had no choice but to oblige). It's possible that Melanie was insistent that they find someone else to spare Cole—that everyone was actually in agreement too—and that Bee either overruled the decision or Satan did. While it's clear that Melanie and the others didn't know Bee's greater plan, it is possible that Melanie then only went along with it in the hope that targeting Cole was only temporary and only truly committed to it when no other option to do so was available in the end—and that maybe she was stalling until Cole figured it out too and then had no choice because by then, time had run out. Melanie could've thought another bargain could also be struck to bring Cole back too like the rest of the cult—and that sacrificing him would only be temporary and could be easily reversed. She also maybe offered numerous other targets that could be easily obtained thanks to her new social influencer status in place of Cole first—only for then decision to keep Cole as the target to again be out of Melanie's hands.

Melanie Will Have a Heel–Face Turn in the Third Film.

Going with the theory that Melanie signed on reluctantly—or could also apply if she didn't, when they all inevitably get resurrected again, Melanie now having faced the outcome and seen what she became—or having seen things through to the worse possible conclusion could turn totally against everyone to try to save both Cole and Phoebe from the latest threat. In doing so, she redeems herself and is released from the contract she signed for her soul—same as Bee would likely be too. This would also follow the pattern that Bee herself would've gone through in the two prior films too—one as the villain and the other as the unexpected savior (and since it's the opposite of the theory in which Phoebe would betray Cole, it would also make sense—and could still be done whether or not that happens either too).
