The game's terribleness is actually completely justified.

Why? Well, obviously, it all takes place in a simulation! Superman's utter inefficiency at solving problems? Lex is deliberately hindering him so he can't win! Villains like Darkseid and Brainiac being total disappointments? They aren't the real people, they're programs, and Lex's ego caused him to depict them as harmless buffoons because how dare they attempt to usurp the great Lex Luthor. All the game-breaking glitches and bugs? Simple: this version of Lex is just a really shitty programmer.
