- Due to the close release date, loads of continuity nods and canon immigrants, it's been theorized that Tarkin was written (or at least planned) before the Big Reboot, and only edited in minor ways to fit. Among other things, it was clearly written to follow up on elements of Darth Plagueis, which may have been cut by editorial mandate.
