Roger in Hoyle is a probable version of Roger

In Hoyle Book of Games, Volume 1, Roger is playing against Rosella and Graham, and explains to them how he crashed into the Daventry moat after hitting the "don't touch" button. This would count as a death sequence in the first Space Quest. Instead of crashing in the moat, Roger goes on to complete the game and have further adventures. So, the Roger in Hoyle is one version of Roger that succeeded in crashing in the moat and surviving, which the player would normally perceive as a death. Being still alive, Roger was still invited to Hoyle.

Or, Hoyle exists in an in-between game realm and Roger can talk about experiences from his games even when they include his deaths. From a certain perspective, his deaths happened, but Roger succeeding without dying is the successful version of Roger, and in this realm, he can still remember his deaths as if they happened, just like the player can.

Roger Junior had jilted Zondra.

When Zondra captured Roger Wilco in Space Quest X, he was right about her "having the wrong guy." The "Roger Wilco" who had jilted her sometime before (or earlier in) Space Quest X was his son, Roger Wilco Junior.
