Yangire Mode is a Flashback Nightmare Akira is having after escaping.
  • The events of Normal/Hard Mode are the "canon" sequence of events, with Yangire Mode being PTSD dreams that Akira is suffering from in the aftermath of such a traumatic experience.
    • Possibly confirmed. Breaking a photograph frame on the office desk inexplicably summons another yandere to attack the player, suggesting that the scenario may not be grounded in reality.
      • Eventually jossed by the creator. Yangire Mode is a non-canon bonus mode, though there are plans for a Nightmare Mode where Akira deals with the PTSD of Normal/Hard Mode.

  • The way her red eyes glow even in the dark (especially during Yangire mode), moves at inhumanly fast speeds, and is able to walk on glass shards despite being barefooted all suggest she's a malevolent spirit or demon guised as a human. She also suddenly appears behind the protagonist during Yandere mode after he inspects the principal's office, suggesting there's something off about Saiko.
    • Jossed. While the creator did originally intend for Saiko to be a vampire, he decided to go with the idea of making her a more mundane antagonist instead.

Shinji knew too much.
  • The casual conversation between Akira and Shinji presumably involved the latter warning about Saiko's true personality and why Akira should avoid her. Saiko overheard their conversation and, feeling jealous at someone else taking away the object of her affections, goes off to kill Shinji while holding Akira hostage to ensure he doesn't leave her forever.
    • That theory seems unlikely, as it relies on the notion that Shinji was aware of Saiko being violent and potentially murderous and yet was still trusting enough of her to not only follow her around alone for an extended period of time, but also trust her to save his life when he was poisoned.

Saiko and Akira had a relationship with each other at some point in the past.
  • Akira and Saiko dated each other, but it went sour as he noticed she was becoming increasingly clingy and jealous whenever he talked to someone else. As a result, they called it off but Saiko was Not Good with Rejection.
  • Another possibility: Akira and Saiko had a short date, but while he saw it as a fling, she thought of it as something else, secretly stalking him so he doesn't notice, dedicating a Stalker Shrine to him, and feeling jealous if he talked to others (especially female classmates). It morphs into an unhealthy obsession that causes Saiko to kidnap Akira and would kill him if he rejects her.
    • It is confirmed by Word of God that Saiko and Akira used to date until he discovered she had DID, at which point he left her and lost all feelings for her. Also, the reason she's covered in blood is that she killed another female classmate for unrevealed reasons prior to the start of Normal/Hard Mode. This animated short also reveals that Saiko immediately felt attracted to Akira when both of them bumped into each other by accident. Another short reveals that she became a Clingy Jealous Girl whenever he talked to others, and creeped him out when she entered the boys' bathroom while giving him a toilet roll.
      • Which leads us to believe the other girl was dating Akira, but Saiko felt jealous that someone else is trying to steal her man.

Saiko is Info-chan.

In addition to Shinji, Saiko has killed other students.
  • The developer has confirmed that between the time she kills Shinji and Akira wakes up, Saiko has killed another girl for unrevealed reasons. Given there are blood splotches, it's implied Saiko has murdered other students in between.

Saiko's fate after Akira runs away.
  • The developer has confirmed there will be endings showing what happens to both Saiko and Akira.
    • One possible scenario is that Akira will flag down a cop, which will result in Saiko being arrested after the cop noticed the stab wounds, bruises, and blood splotches on her clothing. Given the severity of her crimes, she will be carted off to either a psychiatric hospital (after being declared unfit to stand trial) or be imprisoned. If she were to be tried as an adult, she could be facing serious kidnapping, homicide, stalking, vandalism, and harassment charges.
    • Another scenario could involve her being gunned down by the police. There are unused files of the Glock 18 select-fire gun. According to the dev, Saiko was originally intended to die this way.
    • The more likely scenario is that Saiko will die of blood loss after stepping on glass shards too much after Akira escapes the school.
    • Another possibility is that Akira is the one who kills Saiko, either by clipping her with a gun that was locked up somewhere in the school or by bludgeoning her with a blunt object.
All of these theories have been jossed as Saiko canonically dies by accidentally impaling herself in the torso while trying to slip through the main door in her frantic pursuit of Akira. After running away, Akira develops PTSD, suffering from recurring guilt-induced nightmares of seeing Shinji's corpse and being unable to save Saiko. In Nightmare Mode, Saiko returns as a Vengeful Ghost determined to haunt Akira in his mind. The dev will expand on Saiko's fate in the ending where she survives in a future update.

A future update would involve the game from Saiko's perspective

There will be Multiple Endings

Elissu is a demon who also happens to be the Greater-Scope Villain

In addition, Elissu is responsible for Saiko coming Back from the Dead and haunting Akira, all for her own enigmatic purposes

The Bunny Doll is a male demon that serves as The Man Behind the Man / Greater-Scope Villain who possesses Saiko in order to create her Split Personality
  • Hence why Yandere Saiko refers to Yangire Saiko as “him”.

As with Saiko, Shinji will come back to haunt Akira in Nightmare Mode.
  • To up the ante, Ghost Shinji will keep on asking Akira why he didn't save him even though he is partially responsible for the game's events. He might appear as a headless corpse walking around the school.
