Abserd is Wallace's father
  • These two characters have similar personalities, similar levels of usefulness, and similar levels of popularity with player characters.
Prince Thornacius is Abserd's father
  • Thornaciusnote  has the same hair color as Abserd, and Abserd's backstory includes having a magical bloodline.
The Turtle Fuckers will return
  • Azreal will be a Big Good in the new campaign, while Shiro will be the Big Bad.
    • Initial idea Confirmed, but it's Michele...because Will didn't think of a new character.
The Bard in The Obelisk Encounter was trolling his table with meta knowledge
  • As Ben notes, there is nothing obviously important about the obelisk and not a single other table at the event focused on it. His table had even walked past the obelisk until the Bard, for no reason, doubled back to use the one ability that would get a result. He likely knew about the event from reading material and decided to go after it for either fun or just to screw with his table.
Ben's brother doesn't like tabletop RPGs due to 4th Edition
  • Ben started playing DnD during the days of 4th edition, which in retrospect even Ben can't find many good memories. If that was his brother's introduction to TTRPG is it any wonder that he had a bad first impression of "the Sadness"?
The Black Market in "Black Market Blues" was a poorly explained tax dodge by the village
  • The black market here makes little sense when only considered in light of the local situation, but what if it's due to outside conditions? The kingdom where the village is located institutes a tax on villages which is based on either sales of magical items or just general sale of merchandise. The village dislikes the heavy taxation so a black market evolves. The tax collectors notice the trade stopped and start nosing around suspecting underground trade, so the village quickly claims they simply made the trade illegal. So long as they can keep up the pretense that nobody in charge knows about the black market, they can avoid the taxation.
Strahd will try to Charm or otherwise turn Garo to his side
  • As of episode 12, both father Petrovich and father Donavich are dead. Strahd claimed that he needed a priest to perform the marriage ceremony between him and Ireena. As far as we know, his only option for that is Garo, the last ordained priest in Barovia. Since Garo is firecely against Strahd, it is possible that Strahd will try to charm him (after getting him away from the Tome of Strahd) so he can peform the ceremony.
    • Strahd could of course just resurrect Donavich as a vampire spawn or zombie, but it seems unlikely that an undead priest remains ordained.
    • Jossed. Strahd used the Abbot, who's a holy man (if not ordained)
