Dalmatian plantation
Isn't that just a fancy way to say puppy farm? How else could they expect to be able to keep so many dogs on a songwriter's income? They're no better than Cruella really.
  • Depends on the songwriter. Have you seen where Diane Warren lives?
  • If it helps, the original book's sequel states that many of the Dalmatian puppies went off to live with other humans.
    • In 102 Dalmatians, Dipstick is owned by a woman who doesn't seem to be related to Roger and Anita. I'm thinking when the puppies got bigger they realized they couldn't care for them all, so they gave them away to other families.
Perdita was a stray at one point.
Anita was out for a walk when she saw a little half starved Dalmatian puppy and decided to take her in. Anita's a bookish sort of woman who is familiar with The Winter's Tale and thought "Perdita" was the perfect name for a cast off little puppy. The name means "little lost girl" in Latin.
  • Jossed, Strays were usually sterillizated. But Perdita was able to have puppies. And not just one. 15 in total (+84 adopted).
    • Actually, this shouldn't be jossed at all, because in the original novel, Perdita was, in fact, a rescued stray. However, Book!Perdita was different from Disney!Perdita; for one thing, she was a liver-spotted Dalmatian. Another is that she had a different mate (Pongo's mate in the book was named Missis). And a third is that she became a wet nurse to the 15 puppies.
7 deadly sins.
Some characters represent the 7 deadly sins1) Pongo represents lust, as he wants a mate.2) Roger Radcliffe represents sloth, as he is a bachelor songwritter, working at home, and never stopping work till after 5.3) Horace Badun, and Rolly (One of the puppies), represent gluttony, as they are both fat and love to eat.4) Perdita represents Pride, as she was proud of having puppies at first. When she heard that they are for sale, she was regreted, but once they were born and the sale progress failed, she continued raising and loving her puppies normally.5) Cruella De Vil represents the last 3 sins. Wrath, because she can be mad very easily6) Envy, as she dreams of a Dalmatian fur coat7) And finally greed, as she was batting her minions, Jasper and Horace Badun.
Roger is not English
His name is Roger Radcliffe, but he doesn't seems to be English. He is fairly-tanned. Or he is sunburn (Unlikely in UK), or he is half-foreighn (More likely Greek or Turkish).
For 102 Dalmatians, Oddball was born a spotless Dalmatian because of divine intervention
Call this crazy if you must, but I have a feeling that this is why Oddball didn't have spots until the end of the movie. Here's why this WMG is possible:
  • In the movie's opening credits, there's a Dalmatian puppy with spots. The puppy is caught in a twister of spots, and at the end, it's spotless. This puppy could be Oddball before she was born; she must've done something terrible in a past life and had her spots removed as punishment.
  • During the first half of the movie, Oddball wants to have spots, but her means of getting them put herself and/or her brothers in danger. She rolls around on ink and ends up hanging for dear life outside Chloe's office. She steals a spotted sweater during a puppet show and gets tangled up in balloons. She still gets a spotted sweater, but is almost killed after she's kidnapped. No spots; her actions could've been viewed as selfish.
  • Oddball puts herself through hell saving both her family and several more puppies that weren't related to her, and after Cruella is locked up and the dogs are safe, Oddball gets her spots. Oddball risking her life is selfless enough for her to get spots.
Cruella sued Dr. Pavlov.
In spite of his efforts to hide the fact his "cure" could be undone by a loud bell, he was discovered and Cruella sued him for not warning her or her probation officer.
Roger only published his anti-Cruella song after she was arrested.
As stated in the page for tropes regarding the animated movie, she could have sued him for defamation. He only managed to pitch the song after her arrest for dognapping destroyed her chances of winning the eventual lawsuit.
Roger made the fighting game Agnes and Dipstick play in 102 Dalmatians.
Radcliffe is actually Roger's middle name.
  • Remember that he is called "Roger Radcliffe" in the animated film, but it's never specified whether it's actually his last name or his middle name. Also note Anita is never called "Anita Radcliffe" in the film. And in other adaptations (including the live-action film and the animated series, as well as the book the movie is based on) their last name is Dearly. Therefore, Radcliffe is Roger's middle name, but Dearly is his last name.

Collie's pet think about cows being low on milk in morning?
I'm wondering what the pet of the collie, thought, of the cows being low of milk the following morning when they went to milk the cows in the morning. Since we don't know how far for the "pets" did the news travel from London about Pongos' 15 stolen puppies.

Anita is a divorcee.
Note that she doesn't get married in a white dress. This might imply that Roger isn't her first husband.
