WMG / Numberjacks

Go To

Zero was the first Numberjack. And he created the Problem Blob.
All but one of the Numberjacks have Buddy Blocks who are apparent companions to the Numberjacks themselves; and however many buddy blocks they have to represent their number. So naturally 5 has five buddy blocks, 4 has four buddy blocks, and rather plainly Zero has none at all. However, the material of which the buddy blocks are made resembles both in colour and texture the respective Numberjacks themselves. And so the theory goes that Zero was naturally first to diverge of the stem-material which gave rise both to the Numberjacks and the Buddy Blocks, and instead of creating a given number of Buddy Blocks, Zero's excess stem-material led to the creation of the problem blob. And then Zero commanded the creation of the other nine somehow.
  • One extension of this is that the 10 numberjacks represent the Sun and the nine orbiting planets [including Pluto]. So Zero represents the Sun, and is most powerful and forcing, and naturally 7 through 9 - Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are all estranged figures.
The Numbertaker created the other Meanies.
He's shown to be inventive, with tools such as the "Number Sucker-Upper". He might have also created them to have the Healing Factor, which explains why the Problem Blob can explode and regenerate. However, despite creating them all to hate numbers, if he did create them, he didn't necessarily write their personalities— I doubt he would have created the Spooky Spoon to be so arrogant she thinks she's superior even to him, for example.
The Numberjacks have instincts driven towards their number.
Would explain why One seems to know the concept of "one more" and why she only made one noise and jumped once while playing a "making noises and jumping" game with Three.
  • We also get more subtle hints dropped with the bigger Numberjacks too. Example, during "Famous 5s", when hands and feet are being swapped over (four fingers and one thumb [five] and five toes), Five says that this mission is for her to deal with.
The Numberjacks are aliens.
Just think about it. They're sapient numbers, with some really advanced technology. Nothing like this could possibly exist on Earth.
  • They may have even come to Earth to protect us from the Meanies' antics.
There exist negative versions of the Numberjacks (except Zero).
And they are somehow opposite to the Numberjacks. Possible differences:
  • They are the opposite gender from the Numberjacks.
  • They are evil, causing problems instead of solving them.
  • Alternatively, they specifically solve problems related to integers.
  • They live in a chair instead of a couch.
  • They are greyscale instead of colourful.
  • They live in a different country.
  • Their personalities are flipped (i.e. Negative One is cranky and stupid, Negative Two is The Stoic, Negative Three is pessimistic and lazy, Negative Four is a Fearless Fool and technologically-incompetent, Negative Five has a Lack of Imagination, Negative Six is a Lovable Coward, Negative Seven hates art, Negative Eight is Athletically Challenged, and Negative Nine is unhelpful.)
