Kinsi didn't steal Ambar's money.
Becker killed her. The brothers are killing immigrants because they assume that they don't have anyone in the country to question their disappearance. If they found out Ambar had a friend who cared about her, that could pose a risk to their whole operation. The same could go for Ambar's relatives in the US, but it would probably be easier to find out that Ambar has a friend in Kinsi since they worked together than it would be to find out she has relatives she's never spoken about in their presence. Especially since they're (somewhat) distant relatives—Beto is her mother's cousin—Ambar's first cousin once removed. Additionally, Kinsi didn't go in person or even call to quit—Ambar's boss says it was a text message.
