This is an Arcade who can do what he says he can do, and the MCU (which the comics have taken notes from on several occasions re: Whiplash, Yellowjacket, etc.) recently killed off Romanoff in favor of Yelena Belova. The sequel is set up with Romanoff going into Murderworld. Odds are, she won't make it out.- Problem with this is that Black Widow had already been killed off and then came back, no one would buy it. No one would believe it would last. If Marvel wanted for Natasha to stay dead, they wouldn't have brought her back. As for Arcade, there's no guarantee the next writer will portray him as a credible threat, like how MODOK switches from menacing villain to joke villain depending on who is writing.
