WMG / Mister Miracle (2017)

Go To

The events of the series do not take place within an Omega Sanction, but on Earth-Prime
  • Before Crisis on Infinite Earths, Earth-Prime was established as a parallel Earth much closer to Real Life, where various DC superheroes are fictional comic book characters. This seems to jibe with how Earth is shown to be in Mister Miracle, what with it being much more mundane than Earth seen in previous MM comics, and with the Batman plush toy and various superhero shirts Scott is wearing implying superheroes are fictional there. Scott's JLI buddies who make a cameo are simply Earth-Prime alternate versions of those characters; they're not wearing costumes, so there's no reason to assume they're superheroes in this reality (Booster Gold still appears to be a time-traveller, though). Metron's visions of DC superheroes in another universe are an effect of one of DC's crisis events causing the alternate universes to bleed into each other; most likely this was caused by Final Crisis, where Orion and Darkseid also died, their deaths being reflected in other universes such as this one.

The entire series is a Dream Episode occurring after Darkseid War and it comes from an unseen event having put Scott in a coma, and the entire thing is him dreaming about a parallel life and his buried guilt and trauma, as a subconscious way of processing them
  • The entire series is very surreal and cerebral, and it's never exactly clear what is actually happening and what isn't, which leads readers to believe the entire thing is one long-ass dream/nightmare.
