The time loop isn't actually a proper time loop but a Reset Button

In "Monster Stink" Stan claimed that the time loop only affected humans since the concept of charting time was a human invention. In "Fallout Room Boy" Luc and Theo theorised that Mel wasn't affected by the loop because years of eating radioactive cereal made his memory immune. An actual time loop would presumably work by time jumping back and causing the events to never have happened like rewatching a movie, but Stan and Mel seem to imply that the events of previous loops did happen and every day at midnight everything just goes back to where it was at 8AM that day, playing out the exact same way over again like rewinding a toy.
