River City Girls inclusion of elements from both other Technos Japan IPs and Localized versions of Kunio-kun games will lead to the franchise incorporating multiple elements from those two into the main franchise
Even though River City Girls is part of the Kunio-kun series, it still takes place in the titular River City, has said city contain multiple elements in both Japanese and American cultures, brought over characters from both Double Dragon and The Combatribes, and even contained a Mythology Gag to Crash 'n' the Boys: Street Challenge. With this in mind, the series going forward will probably expand the franchise by mixing all of these elements into the main Kunio-kun.Side-effect to this move would include;
- Characters from localized versions of the games and their respective continuities will be incorporated. While the obvious choice would be River City Ransom, characters from Renegade, Super Dodge Ball, Crash 'n' the Boys: Street Challenge and the like would also be fair game. This would also mean that characters that were originally westernized versions of other characters would become their own individuals (So for example Mr. K/Renegade, Alex, Sam, and Jeff "Crash" Cooney would all become characters separate from Kunio rather than just other names for him).
- Characters from other Technos Japan IPs will be incorporated. We've already got characters from Double Dragon and The Combatribes, but there could also be characters from Mat Mania, Xain'd Sleena, Minky Monkey, Dommy, Bogey Manor, Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer, Karate Champ, and more added in the future.
Double Dragon and Kunio-kun are split timelines of each other even in the more classic versions of their games.
The difference being there was a nuclear war in Double Dragon and there wasn't in Kunio-kun.
