Furi Takes Place In The Future of A Bad/Bittersweet Ending To Steven Universe
After the inevitable arrival of Yellow Diamond's forces, Steven, the Gems, and other humans/creatures fight a devastating battle against them. Yellow Diamond's forces are defeated and Homeworld loses an enormous amount of gems. Earth survives the war, but at a terrible price. Much of the Earth is destroyed, and society begins to crumble due to the brush with extinction. Humanity does however form a new society, and studies and adapts whatever gem technology is left to arm and defend itself in the future. Consequently, humanity becomes much more long lived, to the point where most people's lives are measured in the hundreds, and weapons now burn through anything with plasma and energy. Space travel is however still too slow, and Humanity stays on Earth with only the occasional foray into the stares. Unfortunately, Steven is also killed/captured by the retreating Homeworld forces towards the end of the war. Due to desperation caused by the horrifyingly tiny amount of gems left on Homeworld after the war on Earth, Steven's genes are studied and then used to create a terrifying new weapon set to be Homeworld's salvation, an easily cloneable and expendable creature who uses a twisted perversion of Rose's power to aid Homeworld's expansion. Instead of healing and fortifying organic life like the quartz did, the new life form dubbed "Rider" contaminates and kills anything biological simply by being near it. This easily paves the way for Homeworld to come in and set up it's colonies and kindergartens without expending any of the now incredibly valuable gems on just about any planet with annoying or hostile life on it. Fast forward some centuries later, and Humanity at large has forgotten about Homeworld and the devastating conflict with it. The Gems, ashamed and remorseful of their failure to protect Steven, now largely work in the shadows, only occasionally helping humanity with gem related problems and becoming myths in and of themselves. Things are quiet for some time, until suddenly a gigantic pod drops down on earth. From that pod comes a scout from the AI controlled Homeworld ship in Earth's orbit, the Rider. Having never faced a threat like this before, many lost their lives before the rider could be pacified as the gems provided little to no help, as they did not realize that this new alien was connected to Homeworld and simply didn't want to interfere in human affairs that they did not see as having anything to do with gems. To humanity's horror, it's soon discovered that the Rider cannot truly be killed, and that it will keep regenerating each and every time it is killed. In light of this a new plan is devised. Instead of killing the Rider, an impenetrable prison will be built to house it, guarded by the most skilled and deadly humans from around the world. This of course leads into the events of the game, with the 7th guardian, The Voice, defecting and releasing the Rider as a last ditch effort to escape from the prison of his own design and see his daughter again. The Rider himself however is unique in that somehow, someway, the will or consciousness of Rose or Steven is working against his preset programming. He seems to differentiate himself from the other clones we see with his hair, his jacket, and his piercings. He shows remorse and hesitation towards some of the people he kills, and he seems to posses the free will to disobey and go against the wishes of his own superiors and creators, something that the other clones most likely do not possess. So in the optional fight with the Star, Rose or Steven is quite literally working through the Rider to save Earth.

The Stranger is an older version of The Kid.
They both have a lot of things in common: White hair, a red scarf, a stoic demeanor, and a fondness for both blades and bullets. After war ravaged his world, he went to another to find supplies, but was jailed for his violent nature. Determined to finally save his world, he vowed to slay all those responsible for trying to stop him.

Haven will be a prequel to Furi, and the heroine in it will become The Strap
The initial teaser for Haven, the game that the Game Bakers are currently working on, served as a visual antithesis for the very end of Furi (two figures flying over a polluted wasteland, purifying it... in contrast to The Stranger being a Walking Wasteland) which could very well be a tease that the two games are connected.

What is known about Haven is it focuses on a couple trying to eke out a living together, while it is strongly implied that they are fugitives from somewhere else. Additionally, dialogue shown in one of the trailers indicates that of the two, Yu, the woman, can be the more dangerous of the two.

Going back to Furi, for the most part the major elements of the story are all thoroughly explained, with the exception of The Strap. In contrast to all the other characters, the emphasis for the Strap is that she is not just violent, but she came from somewhere else that nobody knows about. Though it's hardly conclusive evidence, it is entirely possible that during the events of Haven, some string of traumatic events will lead to Yu becoming the monstrous Strap.

  • Suffice to say, this has been Jossed.
The voice could have brought his daughter but chose not too.
Given The Hand had his son with him, The Voice could have brought his daughter up with him but what kind of life would she have had? Stuck in orbit maintaining a prison.
