We may start seeing a Romantic Runner-Up for each storyline.
In Miyabi's route it's Chikage; in Chikage's route it's Kyoga. It wouldn't be the first time that a Voltage game has teased upcoming routes by having one of the guys who hasn't been released yet fall for the protagonist during another guy's route. If the pattern holds, we can perhaps expect to see Yukinojo fill the role in Shinra's route, and Shinra in Kyoga's.

Samon is the protagonist's Not-So-Imaginary Friend
Based on previous showings from Voltage, Samon will be the sixth love interest. In Chikage's route, it's confirmed that he's been keeping an eye on the protagonist, but not for how long. Since he's a zashiki warashi, and therefore associated with the household as a whole, he could presumably have existed at the shrine for a long, long time. So it's not beyond the realm of possibility that he was the first to recognize the protagonist for what she was and has been looking out for her/hiding her from other ayakashi ever since. Thus we get a Paranormal Romance twist on the Childhood Friend Romance thing.
- Well, Samon has been confirmed as the sixth romance option, so this should be interesting. Whether he's really the protagonist's Not-So-Imaginary Friend childhood friend remains to be seen. That he's not as combat oriented as the other male leads could make it an interesting deviation from the other routes.
- Jossed: Samon's presence in the protagonist's life began when she was in high school and he came on as the shrine's part-time worker. There's no indication that he was around her prior to that; he mentions being sent into the human world to train because his powers were deemed insufficient to qualify him for the position of clan leader.
