Beware of Unmarked Spoilers!

Pre-Release Theories

There will be flashback scenes that take place before the events of Hawkeye.
  • Confirmed via the Trailer, which shows Fisk beating up a vendor that was rude to a young Maya.

Explanation of how Echo will communicate with Daredevil.
  • In Echo, we will see a meeting between her and Daredevil, but a problem arises; How will they communicate? Since Maya is deaf and doesn't speak and Matt is blind.
  • In the comics, Echo's photographic reflexes allows her to read lips, allowing her to speak without indicating that she is deaf. The show's director has confirmed that Echo will not have have her copying powers and Alaqua Cox does not use vocal communication.
  • Echo could either use a 'text to speech' program to communicate with Daredevil or use a translator for Matt to communicate verbally with him.
  • Echo's abilites will be tweaked for the MCU. She will gain the ability to have telepathic conversations with other individuals.
    • All jossed. Daredevil only appear for 30 seconds in the premiere (and does all the talking). The only accommodations for Maya is texting on her cell phone and the technology that Fisk gives her, which creates sign language signals for Maya to understand and translates her sign language into audio.

Richard Fisk will appear in Echo.
  • It is rumored that Richard Fisk, the son of Wilson and Vanessa Fisk will appear in Daredevil: Born Again, although it is still a rumor and there is no confirmation yet, so maybe Richard will appear in this series and he wanted to look for revenge against Maya, since she tried to kill his father Kingpin at the end of Hawkeye.
    • Jossed. Neither of them are seen or mentioned

Matt Murdock will talk about the Punisher.
  • Matt's role in the series has been confirmed to largely consist of him searching for a "missing ally." Most likely, he is searching for Frank Castle.
  • Alternatively, he's looking for Jessica Jones. She's also been rumored to return like Matt has. Whether or not she does, it would make thematic sense since Jessica was also kept under the thumb of a controlling man.
    • Jossed. That was either a rumor or fan speculation.

Clint Barton will appear in flashbacks to explain how he came to indirectly work for Kingpin.
  • Clint's role in killing Maya's father was the lynchpin for her gradually beginning to defect from Wilson Fisk, and the details as to how Clint learned about the Tracksuit Mafia weren't very clear. This show could give a way to explain how William's fate was sealed.
    • Jossed. He appears in archive footage from Hawkeye.

Selection of which character will be in The Stinger at the end of the fifth episode.
Assuming there even is one, of course.

Echo will end with a scene from Daredevil: Born Again.
  • Unclear. The mid credits scene foreshadows Fisk running for Mayor of New York City.

The Multiverse won't have a significant role on the show.
With the show being the first in the standalone Marvel Spotlight catalogue, the Multiverse may not even be referenced in series. In addition, the show has been promised to be "Street Level" in the MCU.
  • Confirmed

At some point in its 5-episode run, Matt Murdock will sleep with Maya.
Because he's Matt Murdock. That's just what he does.
  • Jossed. Matt only has a short cameo as Daredevil fighting Maya.

The series will end the debate once-and-for-all regarding the canonicity of the ABC-produced Marvel shows.
Probably the single most hotly-debated topic in the MCU, as there are no shortage of people for and against the Marvel TV-era series' being acknowledged as canon. Of course, there still won't be a shortage of clickbait-mongering websites and writers/critics like The Direct and Charles Murphy continuing to push the "debate" for their own ends (and revenue), but for most everybody else, Echo will definitively answer whether Daredevil is canon. ...Or isn't:
  • Alternatively, it will still remain ambiguous, due to the 'stand alone' aspect of the series.
    • Partially Confirmed: After the series premiered, it was finally confirmed by Marvel's Brad Winderbaum that the Netflix series' (or the very least Daredevil) are part of the "Sacred Timeline" of the MCU, ergo canonical. Everything else from that era (except maybe Agent Carter) is still ambiguous. The episodes proper strongly imply Fisk's backstory of killing his abusive father with a hammer is the same, and they only stop short of using archive footage from the Netflix series to confirm it (which is odd, as they do use footage in their official trailer).

Echo will be about Maya becoming a villain.
The show has been teased of having Maya's arc not being a heroic one. The show will end similar to Wandavision, with Maya embracing her dark side like Wanda.

Kazi will return in some capacity.
Considering how much of a role Kazi played in Maya's life, Echo will bring the character back in some form. Considering his fate in Hawkeye, it would likely be either in flashbacks or as a figurative ghost for Maya to remember. However, because Marvel never fully adapted his comic book storyline, Kazi might not be dead. His may of survived Maya's fight. Or he could be literally be resurrected back to life, with his transformation to Supervillain being blamed on becoming a Damaged Soul.
  • Kazi only appears in archive footage from Hawkeye.

The Series will have a massive Bait-and-Switch, with the show ultimately revealing that Kingpin was Dead All Along
While Press Materials for Echo (and D'Onfrio's involvement on Daredevil: Born Again) have seemingly confirm that Kingpin survived Maya's attack, what if it was all a Red Herring to fool the audience? Throughout the series, Maya will interact with Kingpin, but by the end of the series, Maya will be seen interacting with no one. Thus revealing that Kingpin actually died from his wounds. And that Maya has been experiencing him as either as her concious or to show Maya's Sanity Slippage.
  • D'Onfrio's involvement in Daredevil: Born Again could still be possible, if the Series takes place before the events of Hawkeye, such as the 5 year gap between the Thanos' attack and The Blip.
    • Jossed. He's still very much alive.

Echo will become a superhero at the end
Echo has already turned against Kingpin after realizing he was the one who had an assassin kill her father.

This shows that it can help her become a hero by getting through her fears with help of her new friends including Daredevil.

  • Comfirmed! Although it looks like she's staying in Choctaw Nation and her family is helping her. Daredevil has no involvement.

Post-Release Theories

Wilson Fisk running for mayor will be a major conflict for Daredevil: Born Again and Spider-Man 4
This will be what allows Peter Parker to meet Matt Murdock again before the two team up as Spider-Man and Daredevil to stop Fisk.

Maya will return for Daredevil: Born Again
