Duliae blew up the docks.
Arguments for!
- First of all, he’s the only love interest who instead of comforting Alenca and coming up with alternate explanations for the explosion, instead insists she must have been the cause; similarly to how a guilty party would try to anxiously push their cover story. On the one hand, it seems odd that the smart guy of the group wouldn't be able to come up with alternate explanations for the blast in the face of Alenca's breakdown while all the other love interests could; on the other hand, Duliae is very enthusiastic about finding out the mysteries to the Cuthintal and pushing Alenca to grow more and more skilled with its powers, not to mention the state of adrenaline he was in.
- Second: all the love interests conveniently take Alenca to the docks to hang out after their shopping trip, and Lacey's stated reason for taking Alenca to the docks is "to fulfill an errand for Duliae"; on top of this, at the end of Duliae's version of the shopping trip scene, he refuses to converse with Kadia and hurries Alenca out of the caravan "so as not to be late for an appointment" at the docks. He also states that the shipment coming in at the docks is books about the Cuthintal, and seems suspiciously unbothered later that hard to find texts about the Cuthintal have been destroyed. However, they could have all coincidentally wanted to go to the docks simply because the dev wanted to reduce the workload of more than one alternate sequence of events that are referenced continually throughout the rest of the story. As well, Duliae could have simply rushed out of Kadia's to avoid an unwanted conversation, and not mentioned being upset simply to avoid upsetting Alenca, especially in light of him earlier causing her to break down.
- Thirdly, the events at the dock do exactly what Duliae wanted; force a response from Gawloyes that leads to him being overthrown. However, this could also just be a fortuitous sequence of events.
- Fourth, Duliae is the only love interest who’s visibly in pain at the damage to his ears during the explosion, and is clearly anxious later; this could be him trying to appear like an innocent victim, or it could just be that he's the only love interest who wouldn't be used to pain and extreme anxiety as a result of being the only civilian and not a soldier.
- Fifth, Duliae was the one to give her money to go shopping at Kadia's that day in the first place, although that could be coincidental.
- Sixth, when you're on your way to the boat afterwards Duliae stops to "gather evidence".
