Unmarked spoilers below!'—

Raymond, aka "The Mysterious Warrior" never had his goons kill Marion.
He is the master of Gen-Satsu-Ken. Illusion. He made it look like she died. He just kidnapped her like everyone else does. Yes, as he was dying, he had the illusion of an angel return her to life so the Double Dragons thought there was going to be this big Revelations-style fight.
  • Or maybe he didn't die, and just made it look like he did; and skipped town.

Marian's general motif should be a angel.
Besides her beauty and assumed kind nature, Marian's association with law enforcement shows her as a person who fights for a higher cause, in this case her dedication to justice. This makes her a guardian angel to her city. She could also be seen as the Lee brothers "better angel" so to speak. This ties into the prophecy mentioned in Double Dragon II by the Mysterious Warrior.
  • Marian also has some association with the supernatural, such as her resurrection in Double Dragon II The Revenge, her Evil form and Love powers from Neon, and her secret supernatural crime investigator job from River City Girls 2.

The red car the Lee brothers drive really does belong to the Road Blaster (aka Road Avenger) protagonist
  • The Road Blaster protagonist, after finishing his revenge and with the world undergoing the apocalypse, decides to donate his car, both to show he is through with his badge, and his decision to move on.
    • Or at least a version of the red car, as the one he drove is destroyed at the end of the game
  • Alternatively, when the apocalypse came and went, the events of Road Blaster never happened, and he gladly donated his car to the Lee family, spending the rest of his life on the post-nuclear apocalypse with his wife.
  • It is also possible that the series of cars held by the police in that game was donated as it was not much use to them in the post-nuclear apocalypse.
