WMG / Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia

Go To

A future story chapter will reveal that all of the playable characters are actually Manikins.
They will find out that they were born from the memories of the real warriors from their respective worlds, created at the end of Dissidia NT, when everyone created crystal copies of themselves from their memories and the existing Manikins so they could go home and keep Materia and Spiritus' world from ending. This'll turn Opera Omnia into a Stealth Sequel rather than a spinoff.
  • Tentative support for this: Garland references the past cycles of battle and says that there are some warriors who appeared this time around that he's never seen before. Also, the Dark Manikins seem nearly as advanced as the main characters themselves. The Warrior of Light also regains memories of past cycles of battle, though he doesn't reveal how much he knows about them.
  • Further support: When the Warrior of Light meets Prishe for the first time, he is taken aback by something about her (possibly indicating a Have We Met??), referencing how she was the very person who helped him become who he is in Dissidia 012, and that this may take place long after those cycles.
  • At one point, Alphinaud even admits that he considered the possibility that his friends were highly advanced Manikins because they didn't have all of their memories. Foreshadowing for The Reveal, perhaps?
  • Partially confirmed - at least the fact that this is a Stealth Sequel that takes place after the other Dissidia games. Only time will tell if they're all Manikins.

Everyone has some degree of memory loss, not just the Warrior of Light.
When Terra is first encountered, she says that her memory is fuzzy. At first, this is attributed to the Slave Crown Kefka put on her, but that may not actually be the case. Yuna and Wakka didn't remember that Seymour was actually an Omnicidal Maniac, but Tidus did, though he didn't remember what a Maester was. In Aerith's event, it's implied that she was summoned to this world after her death, confusing her, and only she, Vincent, and Sephiroth remember this, while Cloud, Tifa, and Yuffie do not. Sephiroth even mentions using Aerith to trigger Cloud's lost memories.
  • Confirmed.

Mog mentions that Materia is the goddess of free will while Spiritus controls his warriors, which may not be true.
In the original Dissidia games, Cosmos was described as the goddess of "order" while Chaos represented, well, chaos... which can be interpreted as destiny vs. free will, the complete opposite of the gods who took their places in the new world. Not only that, but Mog (a servant of Materia [or is he?] is more or less controlling the party - telling them where to go, what to do, keeping information from them, and even deciding which Torsions to close based on their current strength. Meanwhile, Spiritus' warriors are the ones whose goals are all different, following their own paths. Kuja is trying to defy his fate, Kefka's just having fun, and Seymour wants to defy both Spiritus and Materia... showing that they, in fact, are the ones exhibiting free will.

Mog is a planesgorger
.And thus an agent of Shinryu. Being struck by Vayne caused him to create a Torsion bigger than any before, similar to the planesgorgers in NT.
  • Jossed, kind of. Mog was possessed by an entity called the blackened will, which was an infantile form of a planesgorger.

Mog is Shinryu himself
.Even Materia is unsure of his goals, and it's possible that Shinryu took a page out of Cid of the Lufaine's book in Dissidia 012 in taking the form of a moogle.
  • Looking unlikely since the party confronted Shinryu directly.

Mog is a True Neutral being from the Interdimensional Rift with his own goals.

Playable units to be released in the future, not yet released in the JP Version:
In keeping with the current trend, as well as the difficulty in releasing new characters with unique animations, stats, abilities, and voice actors, it is likely that they will only be adding in characters who were already playable in their own games or major supporting characters/villains. This game does not seem to be doing what Final Fantasy Record Keeper did by introducing characters who were previously not shown to fight at all. This is also under the assumption that characters who are already in the game but not playable, like Ultimecia or Garland, will eventually become playable.
  • FFI: Not super likely to introduce many more characters, if any at all. The only possibilities are Sarah or Matoya, but in the original game neither were shown in combat, so they're unlikely.
    • Mobius: Wol, Echo, and Meia would be a great addition, if the developers choose to pick representatives from this game. Perhaps Sarah as well, if the original isn't selected.
    • While unlikely, this player would love to see the classic Red Mage (of Light) to be included. They could even give him the Red Fang, Blue Fang, White Fang attacks Warrior of Light had in the original Dissidia.
      • Maybe she could be an Original Generation character to Opera Omnia and Warrior of Light's counterpart, like he was an original character to the first Dissidia?
      • While extremely unlikely, Opera Omnia could potentially adapt the remaining three Warriors of Light from the Memory of Heroes novelisation; Zauver/Sauber (Thief), Flora/Floe (White Mage), and Teol/Daewoo (Black Mage).
  • FFII: Guy, of the main characters. Guest characters like Leila, Josef, Gordon, Minwu, Scott, and Ricard are likely as well. Side characters like Hilda, Cid, and Paul are less likely, but still possible. In regards to additional antagonist (clear-cut villainous or otherwise) characters, Count Borghen and Deumion are possible.
    • Guy, Leila, and Minwu have been confirmed.
  • FFIII: Perhaps just Xande, who was the main villain for most of the game until Cloud of Darkness appeared. Luneth, Arc, Refia, and Ingus are possible, but they'd have a hard time explaining Onion Knight's existence unless they just go with an "alternate world'' version. Outside of those, Desch is an unlikely possibility. Alus, Sara, Cid, and Aria even less so. Doga and Unei might make great additions. Noah and/or one (or more) of the Warriors of Darkness would be a surprise, but highly unlikely. In regards to additional antagonists, Gutsco, Hein, and Gigameth may have a chance, Goldor, Medusa, Kraken, and Titan less so.
    • Desch was finally confirmed as another FFIII representative! This increases the likelihood of the other guest characters. Xande has also made it in.
  • FFIV: The game still needs Cid, Edward, Tellah, and Fusoya. Zemus/Zeromus is unlikely, but certainly possible, since even in DFFOO Golbez isn't truly a villain (and Golbez even mentions the possibility of him coming). Fan favorites like Rubicante and Barbariccia would be cool but also unlikely. Scarmiglione and Cagnazzo are a little more monstrous so they aren't as likely as fan favorites Rubicante and Barbariccia. Dr. Lugae and Bagain, while not as popular as the other antagonists from IV, are possible. KluYa and/or Shiela would be a major surprise.
    • Edward has been confirmed as an event character. Fusoya as well, leaving just Cid and Tellah from the first game's playable cast. Fusoya's addition also increases the likelihood of Zemus. Rubicante was also added, making Barbariccia more likely.
    • The After Years: Ceodore, Ursula, and Luca are all possible, even likely. Leonora and Harley are perhaps less likely, but the least likely to be included are Calca, Brina, and Edge's Eblan Four. The Mysterious Girl could appear only if the heroes do first. Calca and Brina might make great parts of Luca's moveset, similar to Aphmau with her puppets.
      • Ceodore made it as a story character, giving some of the other new TAY characters a chance too! Ursula followed suit shortly after. Leonora has also been confirmed, increasing the likelihood of the other playable characters since other crossover games tend to stop with Ceodore and Ursula when it comes to TAY representation.
  • FFV: It doesn't seem likely we'll be getting any more representatives from this game. Everyone else was too minor. Despite the other Dawn Warriors making it into Record Keeper, they likely wouldn't make it into this game. Maybe Boco could make it in!
    • Dorgann and Kelger have been added, with Xezat also being confirmed as a character. King Tycoon might also be considered. Enuo and Ghido are possible, though unlikely. Cid and Mid, less so.
  • FFVI: Strago, Mog, Gogo, Gau, and Umaro are all likely to come. It'll be particularly interesting to see what happens between this Mog and DFOO's Mog, if the latter even lets him join (though by then all of Mog's secrets might be revealed anyway). Another possibility is General Leo. Gestahl and Siegfried are unlikely. Ultros getting added into the game in some capacity (whether as a playable character, boss, or even a summon) would be fun! Banon was a Guest-Star Party Member so he's on the table, but not likely. Duncan, Vargas and possibly even Maduin are possible, while Valigarmanda/Tritoch, Yura, Darill, and Baram are far less likely (the last one especially so if the fan theory that he and Kefka are one and the same is correct). Ramuh, Ifrit, and Shiva aren't likely to make it in.
    • Gau, Strago, and General Leo confirmed. Mog as well.
  • FFVII: Red XIII/Nanaki. The Turks would be cool - I would have thought they wouldn't be added, but if Fujin and Raijin made it in they could too... at least just Reno, Rude, and Elena. Rufus also has potential. Scarlet and Heidegger are unlikely, though their inclusion isn't out of the realm of possibility. Same goes for Dyne, Zangan, Godo, and Ifalna.
    • Crisis Core: Cissnei, Genesis, and Angeal are all possibilites... at least to give Zack familiar faces who know he isn't dead. Lazard and Hollander's inclusions are also possible, though considering the latter's status among the fanbase, he's most likely not going to make it in.
    • Dirge of Cerberus: Shelke. Though adding her in also opens up the possibility of Weiss and the others, which is a lot, and most fans didn't like them.
    • Advent Children: Since Kadaj made it in, Yazoo and Loz have the possibility of joining the fray as well now.
    • Before Crisis: Elfé, Shears, and Fuhito may have a chance of making it in.
    • FFVII Remake: Since Jessie made it and she seems to be from the Remake continuity, it does open the door for additional characters like Biggs, Wedge, Sonon, and Roche. Chadley might also have a small chance of making it in.
    • The First Soldier/Ever Crisis: As part of cross-promotion, it's possible that Glenn, Matt and Lucia could become playable in this game as well.
      • Both Reno and Rude made it in right after one another. Kadaj made it in as well, opening up the possibility for other FF movie characters. Shelke was also confirmed. Cissnei also beat both Angeal and Genesis to the game, despite Angeal's data being in the game for a long time before this. Defying this list, Jessie has also made it in, likely due to her increased prominence and popularity from the Remake. Weiss from Dirge of Cerberus also made it in, increasing the likelihood of the other Tsviets. And in keeping with the trend of VII characters getting added to the Japanese version of the game right after the latest VII global release, Rufus Shinra has also been confirmed, as has Angeal.
  • FFVIII: Kiros and Ward, possibly Edea. It'll be neat to give Laguna his friends from his time period, similar to Zack above. And it'd be satisfying to give Edea an opportunity to fight Ultimecia. Adel and NORG are also not out of the question, and as seen with Rubicante, some characters can be shrunk down to a more normal height.
  • FFIX: Amarant and Quina for sure, perhaps Beatrix for being a fan favorite. Marcus and Blank are other possible but less likely candidates, and Cinna even less so. Same goes for the other troupe members of Tantalus. Garland would also be interesting to see added and is the best choice for a secondary villain to Kuja. Though now that Braska is in even Brahne is a possibility; she never fights directly herself but she did summon Atomos, Bahamut, and Odin. Some fans also wish for Lani to get added to the cast. Mikoto, Sir Fratley, Alleyway Jack, and Puck may also have a chance of making it in.
    • Beatrix made it in as a global first exclusive. Quina was also finally confirmed, as was Amarant.
  • FFX: Rikku, Kimahri definitely. The only question is whether it'll be X era Rikku or X-2 Rikku. Otherwise we've already been through the most likely candidates. Braska is about as unlikely as the Dawn Warriors from V to get in, despite also making it into Record Keeper. Perhaps Yunalesca has a chance? Mika, Kinnoc, and Jyscal aren't outside the realm of possibility, given the latter's status as an Optional Boss in X and the former two's status as bosses in X-2, but they're unlikely to make it in. Belgemine is a possibility, while the other Summoners, Guardians, and Guardians, as well as Shelinda, Biran and Yenke, are far less likely.
    • This troper is coming around to the idea of Braska more and more, especially after the chapter based around Auron, Jecht, and Braska's pilgrimage. Other characters even comment on the possibility of him showing up at times.
    • And after all that Foreshadowing, Braska finally made it in.
    • FFX-2: Paine. Shuyin is also possible, as are Nooj, Baralai, and Gippal. Leblanc, Ormi, and Logos would be fun to see taking on Seifer, Fujin, and Raijin's old role since they're playable now. Serah would likely have to help Paine and/or Rikku explain that they're from the future to Yuna and the others without giving too much away. This troper also has a hope for Brother's inclusion, maybe even Buddy or Shinra. I would be hesitant to include villains from a sequel game, but Caius made it in. Lenne if Shuyin makes it in. Garik and Trema are unlikely, but you never know.
    • Paine confirmed; Rikku will likely be in her X form, but later receive an X2 optional costume, same as Yuna. Kimahri was confirmed as well.
  • FFXI: In keeping with the trend, they're likely to introduce the other leading ladies Arciela and Iroha. Kam'lanaut is likely to drop soon since he just did for NT. Eald'narche is a possibility, since he was the Big Bad, rather than Kam'lanaut, for the first main arc of the game. If they decide to go by expansion:
    • Base game, by nation: Curilla for San d'Oria, Zeid for Bastok, and Ajido-Marujido or Karaha-Baruha for Windurst (or just Shantotto). Shadow Lord for the villain.
    • Rise of the Zilart: Lion and the Zilart brothers probably covers it. Also, Aldo.
    • Chains of Promathia: Tenzen and Selh'teus, maybe Ulmia.
    • Treasures of Aht Urhgan: Naja Salaheem and Luzaf; Razfahd as the villain.
    • Wings of the Goddess: Perhaps just Lilith. Mayakov might be fun but there'd be a lot of overlap with Lilisette.
    • Seekers of Adoulin: Likely just Arciela, who was already confirmed.
    • Rhapsodies of Vana'Diel: Iroha.
    • Voracious Resurgence: Altennia, Excenmille, Garazu-Horezu.
      • Kam'lanaut and Eald'narche both made it in as story villains, so it's only a matter of time until they become recruitable. Kam'lanaut was first as an event character. Arciela was confirmed afterward, then Iroha in a story chapter. Selh'teus also confirmed.
  • FFXII: Basch, then Gabranth since he is the only person who was in a previous Dissidia game but not this or NT. As far as Guest characters go, Larsa is most likely, though Reddas and Vossler are also possible. Reks is unlikely since he was so short-lived. Ba'Gamnan would be a surprising and unlikely addition, but he did just appear in FFXIV. The other Judges are probably not likely to show up. Rasler is even less likely to appear, although it's not outside of the realm of possibility. Dr. Cid could be possible as an additional villain representative.
    • Revenant Wings: Filo and Kytes are certainly possible, as is Lluyd. Velis would be unlikely, though not impossible. The Judge of Wings and Feolthanos would be good villains if they get added.
      • Llyud confirmed, paving the way for other Revenant Wings characters.
    • Basch confirmed, and then Gabranth later as part of the story. Reks also confirmed; the story hinted at his coming for a while and Braska and Dorgann made it, so it was only a matter of time.
  • FFXIII: Possibly Cid Raines. Galenth Dysley would be interesting, but it might be more likely he'd be purely a boss battle considering what he is. Jihl Nabaat or even Yaag Rosch if they really need (anti)villain representation. Gadot and Lebreau, as guest characters for one chapter, are possible but very minor. Amodar, Rygdea and/or (to a lesser extent) Nora might have a small chance of making it in.
    • FFXIII-2: Noel. Yeul has no combat ability, but she might appear as part of the story as a noncombatant like Chelinka. Valfodr, Arbiter of Time, could be possible.
    • Lightning Returns: Unlikely to have anyone except possibly Lumina, which would be interesting but unlikely for several reasons. The only other character that might have a chance of appearing would be Adonis, but he's even less likely to appear than Lumina is.
    • Noel confirmed. Cid Raines also confirmed as an event character. Jihl Nabaat has also been confirmed.
  • FFXIV: Probably Urianger and maybe Krile, because they're Scions (though Krile could run into a different problem). Cid nan Garlond could make it in as well. Minfilia is unlikely because of a lack of combat ability, but she could always make appearances. Tataru is even less likely. Expansion-specific (but prominent) characters who are not in the Scions are certainly possible, but that opens up the possibility for a lot of characters. Gunbreaker Thancred or Sorceress Y'shtola are also some highly popular candidates, and since Urianger isn't in the game yet he's likely to join DFFOO as an Astrologian right out of the gate. Even Louisoix is a possibility if they want to give representation to the original launch of the game. By expansion/version:
    • 1.0: Louisoix, Nael van Darnus ( or rather Eula Darnus?) With their Nael Deus Darnus form as an alt, Kan-E-Senna, Merlwyb, Raubahn.
    • A Realm Reborn: Minfilia, Aymeric, Nero, with Lahabrea and/or Gaius van Baelsar as a villain and then his Shadowhunter version as an alt like Cecil or Yda/Lyse.
      • Shadowhunter might just be an alternate costume since his moveset doesn't change at all.
    • Heavensward: Estinien, Ysayle, Haurchefant, Thordan.
    • Stormblood: Hien, Yugiri, with Zenos as a villain (and most likely villain overall), Yotsuyu (with her BT having her turn into Tsukuyomi), Fordola, Asahi.
    • Shadowbringers: Ryne and the Crystal Exarch; Emet-Selch as a villain. Potentially also Ardbert and the Shadowkeeper. Gaia as a purple unit. The new Warriors of Light (Granson, Lue-Reeq, Cerigg, Taynor, and Giott (unbearded too)). Varis, Vauthry and/or Ran'jit are also additional villain candidates.
    • Endwalker: Reaper Zenos, Sage Alphinaud, Pre-Sundering Emet-Selch, Hythlodaeus, Venat (with her BT having her turn into Hydaelyn), Meteion (with her BT having her turn into the Endsinger), Varshahn, Zero, Fandaniel/Amon, Jullus, Durante.
  • FFXV: Gladio, Ignis, Ardyn definitely. Aranea, Cor, and Iris also likely. Luna, Ravus, and Regis are less likely, but certainly possible. Somnus, Gentiana, Iedolas, Verstael, Loqi, Aera, and post-Time Skip Talcott are other options. Y'jhimei is far less likely, but still a possibility. Movie characters like Nyx would be a surprise but I don't see it happening (though with Kadaj getting in it opens up the possibility for Nyx, Libertus and possibly also Glauca/Titus). Solara from Dawn of the Future would be an even bigger surprise.
    • Ignis confirmed, as well as Ardyn. Aranea made it in as the next global first representative shortly after, and Gladio got added in the very same month in Japan. Gladio has now made it to Global as well. Cor made it in as the third global first representative. Luna has also been added as another story character. Iris also confirmed.
  • FFXVI: Clive (both young and adult) and Joshua are the most likely, with other Dominants also being quite probable: Jill and Cid Telamon have good chances to appear; Benedikta, Hugo and Dion are less likely, and Barnabas as a villain, with Ultima being very unlikely to join the playable roster, unless in his complete form. Even other non-Dominant party members Gav, Byron, and even Wade and antagonists like Sleipnir have a chance of joining.
  • FF Type-0: The rest of Class Zero, with the possible exception of their teacher. Arecia with a unique moveset. Cid Aulstyne for villain representation, maybe even Qator Bashtar. "Honorary" members who never fought in battle as playable are probably out of the question.
    • Machina, Eight, Trey, Nine confirmed. Teacher Kurasame made it in too! Queen and Sice rounded out the entirety of Class Zero, so only time will tell if Cid or Qator make it in.
  • FF Tactics: Delita, Mustadio. Maybe Meliadoul, Orlandeau, Rapha, and Malak. Ovelia and Alma possible but unlikely. Other unique recruitable units like Beowulf, Reis, Construct 8, and Boko are less likely. It's hard to say who the (playable) villain representative would be, since there are plenty of options, but it could be anyone between Folmarv, Dycedarg, or even Wiegraf. Altima/Ajora Glabados is also a possibility. Gafgarion and Orran Durai, as temporary guest party members, are also popular (as is Argath, for different reasons).
    • FF Tactics Advance: Marche, Montblanc, Ritz. It'd be fun to see Mog's take on an Ivalice moogle. A villain representative would be interesting in Remedi and/or Llednar, but we are less likely to get both. Mewt, as a noncombatant, is unlikely. Other unique story units like Shara, Babus, and Ezel could appear. In an interesting twist it would be fun to see Marche as the villain representative. Judgemaster Cid is also possible but unlikely.
    • FFTA2: Luso, Adelle, Cid, maybe Hurdy and Frimelda. Also Illua as the villain. It'd be fun to see Vaan, Penelo, and Balthier recognize them... and perhaps for them to recognize Montblanc. Al-Cid is possible, which would be funny.
    • Vagrant Story: Ashley Riot would be an unexpected addition.
  • FF Crystal Chronicles: Undead Princess, perhaps just because of her inclusion in World of Final Fantasy. From Crystal Bearers, Jegran could work as the villain with other main characters Amidatelion, Belle, Althea, Keiss. The other playable characters from Yuri and Chelinka's game (Al, Gnash, and Meeth) and their Big Bad as well (either Cu Chaspel or Galdes). Larkeicus, Sherlotta's Big Bad, also may get summoned. Leo from My Life as King and Mira from My Life as Darklord are not out of question either.
    • From Crystal Bearers, Keiss was confirmed as a playable character, with Amidatelion coming shortly after him. Jegran also confirmed.
  • World of Final Fantasy: Hauyn, Tama (perhaps Tama and Serafie together?). Perhaps Brandelis, Segwarides, and Pellinore as well. Jiant versions of Lann and Reynn (as separate characters) are also possible.
    • Defying this, Enna Kros made it in as the second representative from World of Final Fantasy, showing that divinity doesn't exclude people from getting a chance to join the roster.
  • FF Dimensions: Since obscure games are getting in, perhaps all 8 of the Warriors of Light and Darkness. As far as a villain, it would be Big Bad Emperor Elgo. Perhaps also Vata, though he is less likely.
  • FF Dimensions II: Playable characters Morrow, Aemo, Wrieg, Jornee, Parai, Maina, with Deathlord as either a villain representative or another hero. A true villain representative would be tougher to pick.
  • FF Mystic Quest: Some fans clamor for Benjamin to join the roster, which would be an unexpected and welcome addition.
    • Kaeli and/or Phoebe would also generate a lot of hype.
    • And now there's extra turbo hype for this idea, because given the game's history, FFMQ characters are perfect candidates for "global first" (read: North America first) heroes!
  • The 4 Heroes of Light: The titular four heroes (Brandt, Jusqua, Yunita, and Aire) would be a fun addition.
  • Record Keeper: Tyro would make sense as a playable hero, since he features in another mobile crossover game. Possibly also Elarra.
  • Bravely Default: As a Spiritual Successor to Four Heroes of Light, it could be possible. Agnes, Tiz, Ringabel, Edea for 1, Yew and Magnolia for Second.
  • Brave Exvius: Ditto as the above, with the main playable characters Rain, Lasswell, and Fina. Lid, Nichol, Jake, and Sakura are slim possibilities (since this is a lot for another mobile spinoff game to appear).
  • Chocobo's Dungeon: With the upcoming release of Chocobo Mystery Dungeon: Every Buddy at this time of writing, it's certainly possible that the game can add characters from this series to promote the game. Chocobo, Shirma, Croma, Cid, Raffaello, and even Mog (as Dungeon Hero X) are possible candidates for this.
  • Spirits Within: Considering movie characters like Kadaj can make it in, Aki Ross also has a chance now.
  • Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin: Even though this game isn't out yet, it's made by the same team that makes Opera Omnia, so Jack, Jed, Ash, and Neon could make it in once the game releases as a way to promote it. Astos is also a strong possibility.
    • The devs confirmed that all five members of the playable cast will eventually be added, so we will be getting Jack, Jed, Ash, Neon, and Sophia. Nil is also a likely option as the villain candidate, since the DLC Different Future showed that she is definitely not a Non-Action Big Bad, while Bikke can also be included as another axe wielder.
      • Jack has been confirmed, and Neon and Astos have also been added.
  • Dissidia: With Spiritus getting confirmed as Garland's FR partner, it has raised the chances for him and Materia to end up becoming playable themselves. By extension, perhaps even Chaos and Cosmos may even be playable one day.

Squall was summoned by Spiritus, not Materia.
Which is why he is one of the few heroes who retains all his memories.
  • Given the reveal that Materia's warriors memory loss serves the purpose of giving them respite from their fighting and the memory loss is to prevent the traumatic memories from preventing their rest, Squall might remember his entire game because it wasn't until it's end that he was a genuinely happy and able to relax.

After going unmentioned through all of NT, the Great Will will make a reappearance.
"The will of the Light" is constantly mentioned as being important, and even the Blackened Will, a corruption of that, turned out to be the Arc Villain of Arc 1. It might even signal the return of Cosmos and Chaos.
  • Confirmed! Sort of. It may not be the same Great Will, but a new version of it is born from the collective manifestation of the entire party's will after they all expel the crystal core of darkness from Shinryu.

Seymour is trying to become The Atoner.
...in his own way, anyway. His Villain Team-Up with the Emperor actually benefited the heroes and messed up the Emperor's plans. Seymour said his goal was to "crush the party's will" by lying to Yuna and taking advantage of her memory loss, but all it did was spur her on to recover her memories. When faced with Tidus and Yuna's Dark Manikins, he does nothing to obstruct them, allowing them to pass on the crystal's brilliance to their real counterparts. This allowed the party to reach Pandaemonium and defeat the Emperor, foiling his plan of conquering all of their worlds and causing the castle's collapse. Afterward, Seymour was nowhere to be seen.

Edea's eventual entry into the game...
The group will meet her in a story chapter where she acts as an enemy, leading Squall and the others to believe that she is under Ultimecia's mind control again. Golbez, finding a similarity to his own situation, will come along in an attempt to help and perhaps even finally atone for his own deeds under mind control. When they all confront Ultimecia, she'll say it's Not Me This Time... and it'll turn out to be Zemus controlling Edea, who was also summoned into this world. After they fight to free Edea (perhaps with Ultimecia's help), she will join the party.

Luca and Mustadio's abilities.
If either of these two characters get added to the game, they both have a limited moveset but they also both have a Robot Buddy: Calca and Brina for Luca and Construct 8 for Mustadio. Since those three are technically playable party members but not really characters in their own right, they might make it into the game as part of Luca and Mustadio's abilities, respectively - just like Aphmau has her two automaton puppets. It would make Luca into an offensive support party member with her hammers and their dances, while Mustadio would get one of his three unique abilities (Aim: Arm, Aim: Leg, or Seal Evil) in addition to Construct 8's bombardments and mechanical abilities.

Before the game ever goes out of service, each and every character will get an LD and BT.
  • Everyone is likely to get at least an LD, and they've loosened the restrictions on who could get a BT so it's possible!
    • Confirmed. Everyone has a LD already, and everyone is lined up to eventually get a Burst.

Options for characters who could get the Cecil/Yda treatment
As in, characters who might end up changing their appearance and moveset as part of the story and becoming a separate unit, like Cecil becoming a Paladin or Yda revealing her true identity as Lyse.
  • Thancred becoming a Gunbreaker
  • Y'shtola becoming a Sorceress (though I can also see this just being a costume change)
  • Alphinaud becoming a Sage
  • Penelo becoming a staff healer/dancer like in Revenant Wings and Tactics A2
  • Older Palom
  • Older Porom
  • TAY Golbez (Man in Black)
    • Made into an alternate skin for Golbez.
  • Though certain characters already got their potential updated form as an alternate costume, I am also still holding out hope for Gunner Yuna, Holy Dragoon Kain, and Patron of Yusnaan/Cie'th Snow.
  • With Hope already revealed to be older than he looks and the recent story returning his memories from the entirety of Lightning Returns, where he was restored to his adult body in the post game, it's possible we could get his adult form released as a seperate character especially with Bhunivelze now taking a role in the story and there being a clear reason for Hope to want to break away from the child form

The identity of the person who is "like Materia and Spiritus"
At the end of Act 3, the Warrior of Light confesses that he has vague memories of a person who combines aspects of both gods, which surprises Prishe and the Onion Knight because they can't imagine people who are more dissimilar to each other. Possible candidates include:
  • Cid of the Lufaine: This is essentially the Warrior of Light himself, but we know little about his personality to say either way.
  • Cosmos: This one was my first thought, but she has little in common with Spiritus. But it would fit the idea of someone he has lost and doesn't want to lose again.
