Dino Squad and Dinosaur Island take place in the same universe.
Both the series and movie have awfully similar artstyles and both involve groups of five teens dealing with dinosaurs. In fact, T.rex that appears in Dinosaur Island has similar color scheme to Veloci. The Squad and the Velociraptors are able to manipulate their genetic code.
This could explain how Max, Fiona, Caruso and Rodger were able to fit in the school corridors despite their respective species being bigger than entire school building. This also applies to Ms. Moynihan and Victor Veloci - they were actually born with feathers, but changed their genetic code to look similar to raptors from Jurassic Park. The Squad classmates featured on the thumbnails of the show Youtube channel were supposed to be Sixth Rangers.
If you look at the show's Youtube channel, you can see that thumbnails for some of the videos uploaded there have four teenagers on them, with two of them (the African American girl with purple afro and blonde guy in leather jacket) being students of school that Dino Squad attends. At first it could be weird that those four teens are present on the thumbnails despite almost not appearing in the show, but if you look closely you can notice that their designs look kinda similar to Squad designs unlike the rest of Kittery Point High School students who have less detailed character designs, and they even have their own renders just like the members of the Squad (and Veloci's goon) who also appear in thumbnails. This could mean that those four were probably planned to be Sixth Rangers of the Squad, with one episode having them coming in contact with Primordial Ooze and getting dinosaur powers, but some behind-in-scenes movement (or shows cancellation if it turned out that there was planned season 3 where those four could had debuted) led to their characters being scrapped. Since we never learned what dinosaur form Peter has, due he disappearing as quickly as he appeared, feel free to speculate down below as to what dinosaur Peter turned into.- Megaraptor: Since Veloci in his dinosaur form always loses fights with Dino Squad, it could be logical that Peter could be his Hypercompetent Sidekick. How? By turning into this guy
, a genus of theropod with sable-like claws that could end up giving Squad such brutal fight that Ms. Moynihan would tell them to immediately retreat. - Carcharodontosaurus: He and Fiona are Ambiguously Brown, which could make Peter into Fiona's Evil Counterpart. And given that Fiona turns into Spinosaurus, it could be thematically appropriate for Peter to turn into dinosaur that has been traditionally portrayed as Spinosaurus enemy.
- Therizinosaurus: Since Jurassic World Dominion and ARK: Survival Evolved portrayed Therizinosaurus as dangerous creature despite being an herbivore, the same pattern could work here. Imagine this type of scenario: before Squad first fight with Peter, Caruso mocks him by saying that he looks more like a joke due to his feathers, long neck and big belly. He's quickly proven wrong when Peter starts curb-stomping them, leading to Max telling the others to retreat.
- Some kind of dromaeosaur: Given that Veloci's company is called Raptor Dyne and Veloci himself is dromaeosaur, it would make perfect sense for Peter to be dromeosaur too. This could also tie-into Animal Stereotype of raptors being intelligent dinosaurs, given he was the one who invented the nanites that mutated Squad DNA.
- Suchomimus: As mentioned above, Fiona and Peter are Ambiguously Brown. But what if this means that they're related to each other? This Reveal could had worked if it turned out that Peter's dinosaur form is a Suchomimus, a dinosaur belonging to the same family of dinosaurs - Spinosauridae - as a Spinosaurus, the dinosaur that Fiona turned into.
