WMG / Deku? I think he's some pro...

Go To

The rest of Class 1-A will have a Broken Pedestal towards All Might upon learning about how All Might handled the USJ incident.
  • To be honest the fact that All Might screwed up the whole USJ incident probably wouldn’t be unnoticed by the rest of Class 1-A. Plus along with the fact that Izuku lost all respect for All Might after the latter had the gall to act as if the whole mess should have taught Izuku he isn’t qualified to be a hero he’d likely be spiteful enough to let the rest of Class 1-A know about what happened when All Might arrived at the USJ to have the rest of the class shun their teacher.
    • Jossed. All Might's actions at the USJ are never brought up, and the man apologises to Izuku at the Final Exams.

Izuku will destroy Stain's reputation before he is captured.
  • Nedzu taught Izuku how to destroy somebody's reputation so he can take down villains with good publicity without causing more problems for himself and his fellow Heroes down the road - villains with good publicity like Stain.
    • Jossed, as Izuku never has a chance to work on that before the Hosu fight.

Stain will have a Villainous Breakdown before he’s captured assuming that Izuku ruins Stain’s reputation.
  • I mean for the hero killer to be told by everyone even those who used to support him and see him as a Loony Fan of All Might would likely warp his mind. As many start to boo him he could possible quote Hannibal Buress and say “Why are you booing me!? I’m right!” While going on a rant about hero society.
    • Jossed. Izuku never has a chance to work on Stain's reputation before the Hosu fight.

Dabi, Himiko Toga and Spinner will not join the League of Villains, assuming Stain's reputation is destroyed.
  • All three joined in large part due to Stain's charisma and ideology; without him, they'd most likely have no reason to join the League.
    • In particular, Spinner joined after being inspired by Stain's desire to change society; without him, he'd probably end up not becoming a Villain at all.
    • Almost certainly Jossed - not only did Izuku never have an opportunity to work on Stain's reputation, Endeavor's sheer incompetence at fighting him ultimately proved his point about hero society being corrupt, all but guaranteeing they will join the League.
    • Jossed for Dabi and Spinner, who join the League, but confirmed for Toga, since she had been adopted by Vlad King before she could join.

Endeavor's abuse will end up exposed by Izuku.
  • Just because Izuku's on the heroes' side doesn't mean Endeavor is safe from having his reputation destroyed; his abuse of his children (Shouto in particular) would give Izuku plenty of good material to work with if he wants to bring Endeavor down.
    • It is likely that Nedzu will give Izuku an "exam" for his Villain with Good Publicity where he is trusted to find his own target and layout a comprehensive, multi-step plan to take down someone worthy of being taken down. Nedzu will probably expect him to use what he has learned to end Stain's sudden popularity on social media (which would be too easy of a target) or even stick it to All Might as a form of petty vengeance (which would cause more problems than it solves), only for Izuku to choose Endeavor because not only would he be actively helping his friend, but because Endeavor's abusive personality (which canon has explicitly stated to be the one thing that kept him at the #2 spot for so long, even with All Might's success rate) would make it less damaging to society as a whole if his various "moral scruples" become public knowledge.
    • Confirmed confirmed confirmed! After his essays open an investigation into Aldera Middle School's abusive treatment of it students, Izuku proposes to go after Endeavor to Nedzu, laying out a long-term gambit to wane the public's trust in the #2 hero before bringing his familial abuse to light.

Izuku will end up killing Muscular by accident.

Mirio will end up gaining the Quirks of One for All's previous holders.
  • Izuku himself ended up gaining several additional Quirks in addition to Super-Strength in canon, in spite of initially being Quirkless - it is more or less a given Mirio's going to gain said Quirks himself down the line.
    • Confirmed - Mirio suddenly activates Blackwhip during a combat exercise at the end of Chapter 65.

Bakugou will pass the Provisional License Exam.

Kyoka will use Izuku as inspiration to write "Hero Too".
  • It's a song about how the students want to be heroes, no matter what others think of them. It's almost a perfect fit for Deku.

All Might will honor his promise to Nighteye and make things worse.
  • While promising to give Izuku a legitimate chance instead of writing him off like he's been doing, there is nothing to suggest that All Might is moving away from his discriminatory beliefs. Thus when he admits to Izuku that he was wrong to dismiss him as a hero, it will be revealed to be a You Are a Credit to Your Race moment over him dropping his belief that someone Quirkless can't be a hero. Naturally Izuku, Aizawa and the others will take this poorly.
    • Jossed - All Might's apology to Izuku is more personal and has more to do with All Might's issues than Izuku's Quirkless status.

The League of Villains will be destroyed at Kamino Ward.
  • Doylist perspective: The aftermath of the training camp attack heavily stacked the odds against the League's survival in the upcoming battle at Kamino Ward - whilst they did manage to capture Deku, only Dabi, Twice and Magne avoided capture, and, thanks to Deku sneaking a tracker with him, the Heroes know of his location and the hideout's location.
  • Watsonian perspective: The Shie Hassaikai and the MLA are both more interesting Villains for Deku to face, given their potential interactions with a Quirkless Pro-Hero in training and their relation to how Quirks have impacted hero society.
    • Confirmed: Deku ends up turning the League of Villains' remaining members (Dabi, Magne, Twice, Kurogiri and Shigaraki) against All for One, who ultimately dies after Shigaraki destroys his life support. In the following chapters the remaining members are quickly caught by the heroes after.

Izuku will identify Dabi as Touya Todoroki.
  • Back in Mastermind: Strategist for Hire, Izuku was able to rapidly work out Dabi's identity from his Quirk, his eye colour and his particular hatred of Endeavor. Given Deku's analytical abilities are on par with Mastermind's, it is likely history will end up repeating itself here.
  • To give a more meta point, Clouds' planned plotline appears to involve Izuku psychologically breaking the League of Villains (going by Izuku dropping the bombshell to Shigaraki about where his Quirk came from in Chapter 86). Going by that (and the heavy focus Dabi had in that chapter), Dabi's likely next to have a bombshell reveal, and what better bombshell for Izuku to drop than him working out his identity as Touya?
    • Jossed - Dabi is captured before Izuku could find out or reveal his true identity. His identity is revealed to the public shortly after he ends up in Tartarus, with his referring to Shigaraki as All For One's "masterpiece", a la Shouto, being foreshadowing to his true identity, rather than a smoking gun for Izuku to pick up on.

Shouto, Inasa, Bakugou and Camie will pass the Provisional License Exam.
  • Watsonian perspective:
    • For Bakugou, he had received therapy for his Inferiority Superiority Complex (which was the source of the Jerkass tendencies which led to him failing in canon).
    • For Inasa and Shouto, Inasa's friendly introduction and apology to Shouto before the exam began made it abundantly clear the hatchet has been buried between them, thus removing the reason they had failed the exam in canon.
    • For Camie, Toga, who had impersonated her to infitrate the Exam in canon, had been adopted by Vlad King before she could join the League, whist the League had been destroyed shortly before the Exam. As such, its a safe assumption Camie is attending the Exam here.
  • Doylist perspective:
    • In general: With the fic's primary antagonists having been taken down at Kamino Ward, and with (at the time of writing) only two chapters left until the fic concludes, its clear the Provisional License Exam is serving as the story's epilogue. With that in mind, having those four pass would end it on a high note, which Clouds is likely going for.
    • For Bakugou specifically, as noted before, him passing would highlight how he had grown as a person over the course of the fic.

Izuku will pass the Provisional License Exam.
  • Watsonian perspective: Throughout the fic, Izuku has shown himself to be a Badass Normal who is more than capable of becoming a Hero. Its practically guaranteed he's going to pass.
  • Doylist perspective: As mentioned above, the Exam is serving as the fic's epilogue, and the fic is set to end on a high note. After all Izuku's been through and all he's done throughout it, having the fic end with him earning his provisional license would achieve exactly that.
    • Confirmed - Izuku passes the exam and, after dealing with a Quirkist clerk, earns his Provisional License.

    Sequel Theories
NOTE: A sequel to Deku? has yet to be confirmed. If/when a sequel releases, all theories in this folder will be moved to its corresponding WMG page.

  • From a Watsonian perspective, Izuku has had the firearms training necessary to handle a gun, and would most likely bring one to the raid on the Shie Hassaikai.
  • From a Doylist perspective, it would be a textbook case of karma for him to be undone by his own creation, especially given what he did to make it.

Overhaul will have the same Villain Respect for Izuku as Stain did for canon!Izuku.
  • Overhaul is a Boomerang Bigot who sees quirks as a disease, an especially troublesome opinion to have when you're a germaphobe. For Izuku to face him without a quirk will likely have Overhaul respect Izuku not only for making it as far as he had with nothing but human ingenuity and intelligence, but because he will see him as the only clean, pure human in a world wrought with plague and filth (in his perspective, anyway). In another fashion, he sees Izuku as walking proof that his desire to eliminate Quirks is the best path moving forward in the same way that the MLA will see him as an existential threat.

The Meta Liberation Army will make Izuku their number one enemy.
  • The MLA are a Social Darwinist group who believe that the stronger someone's Quirk is, the better their social standing should be. Izuku is not only the first Quirkless Pro-Hero student but actively brings to light the fact that the current society favors strong Quirks and how it is causing problems, weakening their message.

All Might's last fight will be with Gigantomachia.
  • With All for One dead at the hands of Shigaraki, Doctor Garaki will be unable to control the titan, who will go on a rampage. All Might will be the only hero able to stop him, and will use all his remaining strength to bring the unstoppable titan down.
