WMG / Danganronpa Class Swap

Go To

Goodbye Despair character roles the Trigger Happy Havoc students will serve as Expies of in the sequel
  • Makoto, Kyoko, or Chihiro will be the A.I. of the Dead All Along classmate who was killed by Chiaki at the start of the Tragedy.
  • Junko will either be the Fuyuhiko of the story (with Mukuro serving as her Peko in such a scenario) or the Mikan who winds up killing for the sake of Despair. In the event that Junko serving the former role, the one who kills for Despair will instead be Toko, or rather, Genocide Jack.
    • Makoto as the Dead All Along classmate is jossed, as is Mukuro as Peko. Makoto was shown going to Towa City at the end of the first story and Mukuro is the protagonist of the second. Kyoko being the Dead All Along classmate is jossed as well, as she's the culprit of the third case after getting infected by the Despair Disease and regaining her memories of her time as a Remnant of Despair, and she states that one of her classmates shouldn't be alive, and she's not talking about herself.
    • Toko killing for Despair is also jossed, as the one who did that was Kyoko.
  • Junko could also potentially be the classmate that was killed by Chiaki at the start of the Tragedy in order to drive the entire class into Despair. Given how Chiaki is the Ultimate Despair in this continuity, it would make sense for Junko to take her place.
This universe's Ultra Despair Girls
  • Sato takes Komaru's role, as she was Mahiru's hostage.
  • Toko/Genocide Jill's role could either be Hajime/Izuru (to keep the Split Personality thing) or Gundham (as I can picture him as being the outcast to the Future Foundation).
  • Makoto may possibly fulfill Nagito's role as The Warriors of Hope's Servant, as the epilogue of the first Class Swap showed both that he's not the Dead All Along Classmate and that he was heading to Towa City following Chiaki's defeat.
  • The Hit List will feature some of the following characters
    • Sato
    • Natsumi Kuzuryu
    • Olga Nevermind, Sonia's grandmother.
    • Hiyoko's father
    • Teruteru's mother
    • One of Akane's siblings
    • One of Ibuki's former bandmmates
    • One of Gundham's pets
Usami's downplayed Adaptational Badass nature here is because of Izuru
  • His Ultimate Talent includes his upperclassman Chihiro's own Ultimate Programmer skills which he's using to try to limit the effects of the Monokuma/Alter Ego Chiaki virus. The reason he hasn't destroyed it outright? It's because Nagito convinced him and Mahiru that putting the Remnants of Despair through a Killing Game of their own is the perfect Secret Test of Character to determine which of them are truly earnest about casting aside Despair and returning to Hope.
Assuming Toko survives the Killing Game, she will be cured of her "Genocider Syo" transformations once she exits the Neo World Program
Ibuki was the one who named the Titty Typhoon in this continuity
  • It wouldn't be out of character for her either.
Chihiro went through a growth sprout in this continuity
  • In the first story, Hiyoko is explicitly stated to still have a youthful appearance in spite of having spent two years at Hope's Peak Academy, meaning that she didn't go through a growth sprout like she did in canon. This could essentially mean that, in order to draw parallels to the original Danganronpa 2, Chihiro may have gone through a growth sprout during his time at Hope's Peak Academy and it will all be revealed in Chapter 6. In addition to that, Kyoko comments in chapter 2 that Usami's game showed their class being composed of eight boys and eight girls, possibly hinting that Chihiro revealed his secret to his classmates and stopped dressing up as a girl.
The outcome of Chapter 4
  • Yasuhiro's prediction all the way back in Chapter 1 stated that two people would die in the Funhouse, but didn't specifiy the circumstances. In Chapter 4, Hina dies of starvation and dehydration due to a combination of her depression and the motive, and Celeste is found beheaded in the Banana Tower. From there, we can extract three possible outcomes:
    • First outcome: The prediction turns out to be false. Yasuhiro's predicitions only have a 30% of accuracy after all.
    • Second outcome: The prediction is correct, but only counts the deaths inside the Funhouse. Anyone who is executed by Monokuma doesn't count as a death in the Funhouse, therefore making this a Red Herring.
    • Third Outcome: The prediction is correct. Hina technically died of natural causes and Celeste probably commited suicide and her head was then discarded by a third-party to make it look like a murder had occurred, thus making it two deaths without the need of a third person being executed.
      • Third outcome officially discarded (Byakuya killed Celeste), but it's up in the air as whether the first or second outcome is the correct one.
What the Remnants did in this continuity
  • As stated above, Makoto will likely fulfill Nagito's role as the Warrior's of Hope's servant and replaced his hand with Chiaki's.
  • Hina likely starved herself to experience the Despair of starvation adding some additional painful irony to her death
  • All of the remnants in this fic killed their canon hostages in the Chapter 1 motive videos, Sakura likely murdered Kenshiro, explaining why he died in this continuity, and Makoto may have murdered his sister Komaru.
  • If Junko became a remnant, she behaved exactly the same as Canon!Junko, with literally no noticeable difference in their behavior.
  • Class 77-B in this verse will also have been manipulated into falling into despair, rather than being brainwashed like their canon counterparts.
